A Sharrp SYBIAN
I saw how shiny and perfect a lot of members keep their brass pipes and i'm wondering how do they do it? my Nawras came shiny as did my big nickle plated nour that looks like the 29G. However my New Nour Spear has sat in a box for many years before i found her and she seems darker than most brass pipes. I want to shine her up and breath new life into her so she would be as shiny as my Nawras Swirl. Anyways what do you guys think is the best way to do it? The picture attached show's both of these babies close-up as you can see the Nawras is shinier and a lighter colored gold. Any pointer's for shining up / polishing will be great. I thank you guys in advance :-) Edited May 3, 2013 by A Sharrp SYBIAN

Chreees
Yep, I just do what is shown in the video. Been meaning to try other polishers, but Brasso works so well, so why bother? Pickup Brasso and find two old rags and you're set. Be sure to use your wankin' hand. ;)
A Sharrp SYBIAN
Chreees Thanks for making that video! I'm getting Brasso and ill give this baby a nice polish tomorrow! Now to do a review on her! :-)

A Sharrp SYBIAN
I just used Brasso. It made my Spear a lighter tone gold still very shiny and beautiful. Worked like a charm :-) only problem is now my hands smell like brass as do the rags stuff is hard to wash off lol
Hassouni
Brasso also smells like rampant death. I'm still looking for a metal polish that doesn't....
Chreees
Who cares what it smells like? If it works good, then I don't mind the smell for the short amount of time I have to use it. Either way, glad to hear it worked well for you, Sybian.

â€On
Brasso also smells like rampant death. I'm still looking for a metal polish that doesn't.... MAAS (http://www.maasinc.com/) is the absolute best polish for any metal ever made. Period. Anyone who has used it will attest to that. It just works lightyears better than anything else I have tried (and I have tried a lot of polishes). As an added bonus, it smells much better than anything else I've used, so it's definitely worth giving a shot to if the smells bother you. I use the stuff that comes in the tubes. Sybian, I made this thread a while back which goes over most of my methods and has high quality pics of the results, but to sum it up: use MAAS metal polish (lightly spread over small sections at a time with a microfiber cloth) and a Dremel on medium speed with the felt wheel tips. You will go through about 2-3 felt tips on the average pipe (depends on how engraved it is, as engavings tend to rip the felt wheels up a bit quicker). It works better than anything else. I'm not even going to argue it. Read through that whole thread and you will also see a pic of the type of tip I use with the felt wheels (it's basically a little screw end that you just twist the felt wheels onto). Bawhee
All the other friends have been throwing sand in your eyes to send you on the wrong track cause they dont want you to know the dark truth about hookah elitist polishing tools. The preferred substance for polishing is baby seal tears in which you have to soak bald eagle feathers for a month, and apply it on your pipe evenly, you should use polar bear scrotum instead of cloth, and it has to be fresh scrotum every time. PM ty for the bear scrotums, he kills them on his "camping" trips with his dogs and supplies the forum. Youre welcome.
A Sharrp SYBIAN
^ Bawhee has the most solid response so far... guess i gotta stop using Brasso! Also neverdull smells worse than brasso!
mustang67n
^ Bawhee has the most solid response so far... guess i gotta stop using Brasso! Also neverdull smells worse than brasso! The baby seal tear concoction Hardly has a smell at all! But afterwords your hand tends to smell like the bear scrotom, but I've heard that's actually an aphrodisiac. KnightHawk63
I know everyone will be like wtf? But give ketchup a shot, I find that it works to bring a luster back in minor tarnish, heavier tarnish will need a stronger treatment though.

But give ketchup a shot, I find that it works to bring a luster back in minor tarnish, heavier tarnish will need a stronger treatment though. Save your ketchup and just use vinegar, as that is the active ingredient in the ketchup that is helping you clean. Lots of people use vinegar mixed with water to clean their pipes. But that won't polish them, not in the true sense of the word.
redwingsoverbaron
yeahhhhh ketchup. the think i like about ketchup more than vinegar, is that the ketchup adheres to it and you can let the ketchup sit on your pipe, so instead of just applying vinegar and scrubbing your ass off, you can use ketchup and let it sit for ten or fifteen minutes and just wipe off all the oxidation.
