Who Prefers Tips?

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been finding myself using either my VERY sturdy Elmas* or stiff, slightly larger Lebanese tips* with all my hoses. I never used to use tips at home before, but I find it helps the draw stay focused, almost like using a straw vs drinking out of the bottle. This seems to be pretty normal in Turkey. Anybody else use tips at home when smoking alone? Am I crazy? I'm thinking of getting one of these real amber tips from Turkey...

(I do NOT like the flimsy clear plastic ones)

they look nice, more durable than plastic..wonder how heavy they are and how secure they will sit in the hose. I liked the coco tips cause they didn't restrict the flow. But those elmas ones looks like beefy tips.

They're not really that big, but the plastic is VERY tough and sturdy. They don't really restrict the airflow either

I use them when I cycle through to my metal or wood tipped hoses. Prefer acrylic mouthpeices.

I just find the tips easier to smoke from, which I realize sounds odd. Turkish and Egyptian hose mouthpieces are too big for my liking. Lebanese wooden mouthpieces are about my upper limit for comfort - I sometimes use tips in those, sometimes not.

I love Coco Tips! Best ones on the market in my opinion, but I have big bucket of all kinds, I take whatever I pull out.

I either use my orb crown tip or the small sturdy plastic tips Hass posted. I got a bag of 500 of them for free when I ordered my Kafesli. They should last a while because I re use one for like 6 months easy.

I use tips exactly like the one you showed as well as meerschaum tips made by Elmas.  They do help me keep a nice draw and pace to smoking and I also don't feel like my slobber is getting into the wood tip of my Elmas mouthpiece.

Hassouni, I have been trying to get one of these real Amber "Tipsi" lately, but buying from Turkey is not easy at all, except with Nargilestore, which does only carry the Elmas made Meerschaum tips or what appear to be false amber ones ("Katalin tipsi"). I hope Hookahabroad will help us...

I hope to get two decent size pieces of amber so as to have a complete Agizlik mouthpiece custom made (by Elmas) with real amber (like the older ones), but in the meantime I would love to get my hands on a real amber tipsi, at a reasonnable price, like the ones seen on Ketenciler website...

Yes she leaves in or near Konya and buys stuff from Ketenciler Nargile (besides buying from Elmas in Izmir)...

Now, isn'it frustrating that most vendors in Turkey would offer the possibility of seeing prices in Euros or USD, and sometimes seeing most of the website in English but would not answer your mails, not even in Turkish and, when contacted, through Turkish speaking frineds, would admit that they do not sell or send items abroad!!! I understand ordering from Elmas (Izmir) is not easy at all. I quickly turned to Elmas Originale, their oficial shop in Germany, which is expensive but quite convenient for those of us living in Europe, and I now buy from Nargilestore. But most other Turkish sites (Tokel Nargile, Sultan Nargile Mazemesi and many others are not easy to deal with... in 2013!!!)
