Like I said, I wanted to get more information out of him, but he wouldn't discuss specifics unless I signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement, which would have then prevented me from telling what information (usually bad stuff) that I was able to glean from them. If you did ask him, they would probably say it didn't and if you asked for more information they would say its proprietary information.

That is unfortunate, but further reinforces why I am just gonna stick to foil.

I see the lotus as more of a wind cover. The long life of the coals observed due to the lotus is mainly because you never rotate the coals. There for you never ever really ash them, leaving less exposed surface area.

Though I haven't run the numbers, I feel a reduction in oxygen that would significant enough to cause worry would be felt in the draw. I feel no diffference in the draw. And as you guys can observe that's when the reaction really speeds up (coals get hotter).

Though I have carbon monoxide ditector at the garage my friend owns, I'll run the smoke through it, though since it's made for cars I'm sure it's just gonna read error.

I never ashed coconut coals when I used them any way, nor did I rotate them, I feel like if I used the lotus I would not see any difference in session.

The CO detector isn't sensitive enough I should think.

Lets say the difference is between .001 and .002. Substantial, but enough to register or affect the draw necessarily. The draw isn't the the real issue however, the issue is the somewhat enclosed central area. Are there pockets that don't have enough oxygen?
