Try putting on 2 coals and walk away from the hookah for about 5 minutes. When you return the shisha should be pretty much primed and should smoke like a champ.
Can you describe burned? Is it a bit harsh or it it giving burned tasting thunderclouds?

tried two yesterday and it didn't go really well. no taste, very little smoke.

did get a decent aamount of smoke with cover, and a little bit of taste, but very faint.

about 3/4inches.

yes, they give a lotta heat;..

it's just confusing... idk

sometimes i give more heat, then it's packed to the rim, burns, then others times, yara yara...

so i'm sticking now to my small chinese phunnel... trying to stretch the foil as much as I can.

will try again tonight. ;D

thx brothers.

I could easily see from the 2nd pic from the top that you're using WAY too much heat! If I put that on a small phunnel I'd burn it too. :) now,?what you want to do is use 2 pieces that are maybe 1" long on either side of the bowl, toward the outside of it, try that and report back

=(

there was no taste though.

this time it did not burn... very little smoke even.

my friend told me to poke holes to the bottom, to make more airflow into the shisha.

You have to remember, heat doesn't travel straight down from the coals, it comes off in every direction from the coal, enveloping that 1 piece in a more or less spherical shape.
Keep on mind that the faster a coal turns to ash (usually) the hotter it's cooking so having 3 coals in a bowl going all the way around it is going to be overkill. Shisha wants to get warm, it doesn't want to fry in a lake of fire.
Those pieces look to be about 2" long, so for me, I look at the picture and think to myself " that's like having 5 or 6 coconaras on a bowl, that's why your shisha is burning, problem solved!

If I came off a bit harsh please let me assure you that's not my intention, I'm drunk!

lol

in no way u were harsh, ur awesome, bro.

i'm in to learn, no matter what.

wasn't i supposed to get thunderclouds if it were heating too much, though?

this session is very different from what i've been experience before. i used to get huge clouds and it would burn.

this time, no clouds, very faint taste.

also, coals are about 0.78inches here, about 2cm each. :D

I wish i knew how to upload pics from iPhone, my pcs is down right now (no interwebbz) I'd show you how I pack my bowls as I'm going to get one fired up in a few minutes

what i did was create a facebook album, only viewable to me, and uploaded pics there, u could try with the facebook app.

or i could give ya my facebook, if ur ok with it, you can attach pics on the chat. if not, that's ok, i'm loving the help, bro.

really appreciate it.

next session will pack more shisha in and pierce to them bottom.

You sir most likely have a leak somewhere

also, with my other bowl, with HookahFina, using big coals it smoke very good, about 1:30hour session.

but with fantasia and mizo, it burned like that. =(

trying to find a method for those, so i guess that kills the possibily of leaks? or am i wrong?

sry bro, i'm trying to think of everything possible. sry if my questions or assumptions may seem too naive...

also plz excuse my english, since it's not my first language.

You say your coals are only 2 cm, by looking at the picture second from the top, the coal closest to us would make your bowl around 4 cm... Roughly 1 inch across. That can't be so... Can it?

radius is about 3cm, from one extremity to the other about 6cm.

gonna take a pic from top. one sec, bro.

No, you're good, that bowl is LOADED with coals though, you need less and smaller coals. I see that they're round sticks. Make the length equal to the height, right now the length is double the height and you have 3of then. It's too much
