squidget
So I have one of these: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1067-premium-hookah-charcoal-holder.html However sometimes it pops like a cookie sheet does in the oven when the coals are on it. This is a bit problematic for my feet, the carpet and the dog. What are other folks using for charcoal carriers? Way back when I was using a ceramic teacup but eventually that split in two due to heat over time.
Stuie
I have 3 of those, sm, md and Lg. Never had that issue with them. I use the small one daily. although i am trying to justify getting the Mya Coal carrier because I love Mya and it looks freaking awesome! Plus if it is popping like you say this more bowl style will work. http://www.myahookah.com/small-hookah-charcoal-basket.aspx?F_All=Y I also have one of these still I think... if you want we can work something out. Looking at the design above - I wonder if drilling a hole would stop my popping problems? Edited May 28, 2013 by squidget

I bought mine a few years back though, also from HS. I wonder if the newer models have thinner trays or something? the popping i'm assuming is the metal flexing from the heat.. hmm.. also, the holes MIGHT help, but I'm not certain, that's physics beyond my learning :P

It looks nice and it does work but if the coals sit longer then 2 minutes - POP.

â€On
I have one of the last generation mya coal carriers (probably the same as pavo's), it's silver. It's seriously the best. If the new ones are anything like those ones, I couldn't recommend it enough. This picture of it from 5star's site is warped (it's actually not all bell-curved like that), but you get the idea. Pavo21
yah i knew ty said he had 2 of these a long time ago, mine is almost the same as that except the bucket is different is more rounded and has a rim that goes over the top little bar, like a lip, but the holder is excatlly the same just different bucket. and its fucking used lol like 4 years old

I'm guesstimating - could be shorter. Essentially if I stop to give the dog water walking from the kitchen to the living room - there can be problems. Stuie
My dog does that too. she taps her bowl right when I am headed to smoke... she has to wait... now she's in the habit of hitting her bowl or the back door to go out, right after my first puff.... i think my dog hates me. ilikemyusername
Umm... Call me crazy but I don't use one. I light 2 coals and put them on the bowl. If I need it to cool down I'll put them on the tray, the one that's attached to the pipe. If I need another I light it as needed... Call me a square.... ilikemyusername
I can understand that... What about going to the local Wally World and getting a small cast iron pan. It will likely set you back around ten dollars and you can pass it on to your grand children's grand children Edited June 3, 2013 by Chreees Merged posts.
