Vinson
I've been hearing a lot about "acclimation" and I know what that means by definition... but leaving your shisha out uncovered for several hours? I've only been smoking my brand new hookah for about 6 days now, and when I get new shisha I open the jar keep it in, mix it up with a little cocktail fork, pack it up, then smoke. Acclimation to me is way over my head... perhaps some explaining would clear things up :)P.s. I typed in "acclimation" in the search but I mostly see people discussing their opinions on it, not actually the process, or its purpose. Thank you! Anpu
Sometimes (especially with unwashed shisha), shisha will not have a strong taste (mind you, some brands/flavors are already low on taste) or taste 'soapy' and that's sometimes due to shisha not being 'used' to the humidity in the air it's being smoked in. When you leave it out for a good 4 or more hours, you're letting it 'acclimate' to the air it will be smoked in.
DizzyGuy
Yeah... Just let it sit out for several hours, maybe over night... but let it sit it about the same humidity that you plan to smoke it in...
yashman19
If you don't notice anything odd tasting with your tobacco, then I'd say don't worry about it. I live in an area with relatively no humidity, and have never had a problem with my tobacco, so I've never had a need to acclimate. I guess for those people in areas like Florida or anyplace with wildly varying humiditys, it could mess with the tobacco.
DizzyGuy
<<<From Alabama... I acclimate when I can
Johnny_D
I guess this has a huge amount todo with your current location, weather & humidity.I packed a bowl and left it in the fridge for a bit last night, needless to say, it was poor smoke. However, i store all my tobacco in a protected fridge draw, and never have a smoke problem. However the tobacco normally has 20-30 mins of time to settle?JD

DizzyGuy
I guess there should be another disclaimer on this thread... Acclimation can be good, especially for trouble shooting... but it isn't REQUIRED. Like I have picked up some shisha right out of the freshly opened box, put it in a bowl and smoked it and it turned out fine
Johnny_D
It's a funny one this :- I've read so much conflicting information!Personally I've got stuff in the fridge & stored in the cupboard and both are equally fine :SJD
EvansLight
yea ive actually found that humidity shock helped my tobacco. went from indoors to outdoors in the middle of a texas storm, 0% humidity, to 100% it smoked better than ever

PersianPride
I live in a place of the world where weather change is pretty dramatic. Literally one moment it is sun shine and the next is a storm that a submarine can navigate through. I have never accimilated and never found any problem with my tobacco personally I would be a little scared if my bowl of al waha was like a living organism that is sensitive to humidity. Macho555
Sometimes I do, sometimes not. Usually is its giving me trouble, I will, but for the most part I get better results from just packing the bowl.

Unless the US government is genetically altering tobacco that can with stand those little inconveniences of nature.

Sonthert
I also rarely acclimate, but the tobacco acclimates in the manufacturing process, thats why I advocate acclimating at least once when you first get it.
aronparsons
The only brand where I've noticed a difference in acclimation is Tangiers; a couple of flavors I got were bad the first day I smoked but after sitting out overnight they were amazing. For Al Amir, Al Fakher, Al Waha, Nakhla, Layalina, Starbuzz and Fumari, they've always been good to go out of the package.
Sonthert
I've noticed differences in Nahkla and in Al Waha, but all the rest are washed on your list, so that would be make sense.

chinamon
i live in a place where if i acclimate then my shisha will turn to ice.once i put my shisha right outside my igloo to acclimate and wher ei can still keep an eye on it but when i woke up in the morning i saw a polarbear smoking my shisha. Anpu
[quote name='dynamicflow']Layalina is washed?
