getby25
Hi, I got KM trimetal double hearts. As you know this is not a solid pipe, I guess because of this after wash my pipe, IMO there some very lil amount of water stuck in the gap between the design piece and actual pipe inside. So I shake my pipe and remove the water. Seems its not gonna be a problem for smoking, i checked the air flow of every each holes, blow thru the hole and block the other side hole, no air leaking.Just wondering if it happens to other tri users. KnightHawk63
As long as you actually cleaned out he areas where the smoke travels through, you'll be fine :) Just try to shake out whatever loose water there is!
Stuie
Happens all the time when I clean my KM Shareef. It's hollow too. Doesn't effect smoking. I let it air dry on the back porch in the Texas Sun for an hour..... water is all gone!
getby25
Thanks for the reply, I wanna find the spot and put some glue or whatever that can seal it, just annoying. ..
KnightHawk63
Good luck with that, lol there's probably numerous places.
fineout
happens on mine right where the inner pipe "rolls over" and molasses gets stuck in there, it can get pretty messy if its left upside down or anything for too long.
Bawhee
I havent had that problem with a KM due to never owning one, however this has happened with some cheapo pipes to me in the past and quite frankly if its just water and there isnt a leak in the actual steam you dont have a real problem, if youre worried and want to find the leak submerse the pipe in water after youve dried it so you can see where it starts bubbling from, then you can hotglue it carefully or think of any solution that looks good :P
Chreees
Pretty common. I had a piece of metal slag actually stuck inside a KM OG Trimetal I owned. Gave it character, I guess. Silly Egyptians...
mustang67n
Yeah not a big deal, very common. They have solid stems inside so there won't be any air leaks like you said (Kuddos for checking for air leaks)

Skoozle
I don't always smoke hookah, but when I do, I prefer a solid stem.

No. Because its solid and not hollow. Lol, it's like comparing a plastic baseball bat to a solid wooden bat. Just much more sturdy, durable, and beefy. Not that hollows are bad. I personally prefer solids.
mustang67n
Solid stems are heavy, beefy, like knight said. Instead of it having a downstem that runs from the bowl to the base with a "shell" (the hookah design that you see and touch) around it.. It's just a block of badass sexy metal around the downstem. No difference in how they smoke though.. except solid stems have more weight so there is less tray rattle.

This is why I love Magdy Zidan's when it comes to hollows, snap-on tray = no tray rattle and no pipe/base rattle since the grommets are so snug. Speaking of which... I may take a look at some. I loved my MZ Orion.

Skoozle
Yeah, they smoke the same but if you look at the hose port in that pic I posted you will see it is more solid and rigid. That will prove to be more reliable in the long run. Pay attention to how much stress you put on your hose port when you put the hose in or if you use it for leverage when you put the stem in the base. Eventually the joint between the hose port and the heart will crack; sooner with a hollow port than with a solid port.
