getby25
Looks many people love farida and I don't remember any bad comments on farida as well. As long as those are same Egyptian style hookah, I guess it smokes very similar or same... What makes it special? Please answer who actually have experience of smoking both pipes and share some comparison... such as draw difference
KnightHawk63
All egyptians are the same. They all smoke the same, an egyptian is an egyptian. Open draw, large gauges. Farida, KM, MZ, YEK, Hope, etc, etc, etc all smoke the same. It's all a difference in craftsmanship that people look for. More recently KM's have gotten more sloppy with their weld jobs and such, Farida's are known for their superior craftsmanship and weld jobs, they are all going to be solid brass, in all variations (natural gold brass, oxide, and nickel-plated). My little Farida Mini Cleo weighs a ton for the size. They also have copper downstems, no worries of rusting, even though rusting is normally easy to deal with if it does happen. If you are wanting draw differences then you need to look into different types, Syrian's have the most restrictive draws, my Nour 38B is more restrictive than both my Hope Leo #A and Farida Mini Cleo. Turkish pipes are in the middle with restrictiveness. Edited July 31, 2013 by KnightHawk63
getby25
Sounds you know what you are saying. Thanks man
Chreees
I disagree. Not all Egyptians are the same. Quality is all over the board, and they can vary in terms of draw, although the better known brands are about the same. But Farida is about on par with Khalil Mamoon, judging from reviews. PJCrusader
Farida seems to be in vogue right now.
joytron
I prefer the Farida in terms of both build and draw.
Travis
I agree with Jess, I've owned many KM's and a few Farida's (Formerly Themsaah) and the Fairda wins every time. Mostly because of how sub par KM manufacturing has become in the recent years. My Farida's are built a lot more solid than any KM I've personally owned. Pavo21
I prefer most the looks on the KM but i like the Farida quality. i mean some kms have great quality also. but i think between the two im a KM person.
getby25
seems it is hard to compare those as long as both got some class with same style hookah
â€On
Not to nitpick, but isn't Farida from Jordan? I mean, I know they are next door neighbours, but so are Canada and the US... Anyways, I agree with Jess, I prefer the looks and the draw of Faridas. Hell, if nothing else, you gotta give credit to them for at least trying some different styles (that still retain a classic look). KM seems to just be rehashing the same stuff over and over without any real improvement. I would love to see one of them come up with a new type of purge or diffuser or something. ANYTHING. KnightHawk63
Nope, Farida is from Egypt, the owner Randa is based out of Giza. But hey I have my Farida for sale now :)
