Question About My Hookah

okay so i have two hookahs.

 

1 is a 4 hose hookah and the other is a two hose hookah, for some reason the four hose hookah bearly gets any smoke i dont know whats wrong with it its fairly new.

 

btw the two hose hookah gets alot of smoke.

 

any suggestions?

most likely an air leak in one of the 4 hose ports. If not, an air leak somewhere else.

 

Do you have auto seal valves in the 4 hose ports?  If so, try blowing into each hose port.  if one has a substantial air leak, that's your problem.  if all four have a minor air leak it will add up to a big air leak.

 

If your hose ports are sealing properly then you have to look elsewhwere for a leak.  Being auto seal, you could set it up without the bowl and try to suck air in through the bowl port.  if you can suck air in that means you have an air leak at the base gasket or somewhere on the stem itself. If you have other screw together joints on the stem (other than where the downstem screws into the heart of the stem), these would be likely candidates for air leaks.

 

If you still havent found an air leak you can test the hoses by pluging one end and trying to suck air through the other end. If you can you hav an air leak.

 

Do those tests and let us know the results.

the more hoses a pipe has, the more places where it can develop an air leak. "blow" tests like he described will be your friend.

Um, the 4 hose IS an autoseal isn't it? Or do you have to cork up the unused ports yourself?

 

What kind of hookah is it? Picture perhaps. If it is a traditional hookah, look on the bottom of the part of the stem that fits into the vase. There should be holes leading to each hose port and the purge valve if it has one. Make sure there isn't melted metal blocking any of the holes.
