Kashmir Peach

Recommended Posts

I bought 100g of Kashmir Peach along with the new Tangiers bowl. I smoked a couple bowls of al amir and Havana prior to smoking the Kashmir Peach. The Al Amir smoked extremely well but the Havana was a bit harsh. When I first got the package I liked the smell. It was very familiar yet foreign. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I decided to give it a go. I read in Tangiers' thread that one should mix the shisha around. However, this was extremely difficult to do due to the bag that the shisha came in. Anyone who bought the 100g samples will understand.I packed the bowl, poked holes around the outer rim of the bowl and one in the middle. I first lit 1 3 king quick light. As my girlfriend and I took turns smoking it, we thought it was very exotic, but something we can get used to. However, once we continued smoking it, it got awful. It wasn't so much harsh, as much as it smelled and tasted like old shoe polish. We continued to smoke it a while longer until we just couldn't take it any more. She got an extremely large headache and fell asleep 10 minutes later. I just got a gaging feeling every time i could smell the shisha. It was awful.Shisha: Tangiers Kashmir PeachHookah: 26 inch mya Hose: Mya WideBowl: Tangiers Funnel Smoke: Nothing spectacular, sometimes better than others. Didn't get harsh though. Not very dense.Buzz: A pretty large buzz for the amount we smoked. As I said, she pretty much passed out.Overall: Probably would not go near this again. 2/5EDIT: I finally put my finger on what it smells like...the scent of old leather founnd in furniture shops in India.

Hmm, that's very different than everything I've ever heard others say on this board. Kashmir Peach is one of my favorite flavors. The smell and how it got harsh seem very uncharacteristic of Tangiers' tobacco. The large headache/passing out is likely due to the nicotine in the tobacco; Al Amir and Havana are both very low in nicotine compared to Tanigers. Another factor is the funnel bowl, which I personally have no experience with. I'd say don't write this tobacco off as it is very different than most other flavors. The only other thing I can think of that could cause the flavor problem is you say it was a 100g pack (probably from Hookah Kings?); perhaps it is quite an old batch or something, as most people buy Tangiers from Hookah Company in 250g amounts.

I bought it because it seemed as if most people on the board is in love with the flavor. I did in fact buy it at Hookah Kings. I hope it was a bad batch because I don't think I can even leave the bag in my room anymore as the smell of the shisha alone is reminding me how bad a smoke it was.I also bought 100g of Orange Soda. Hopefully that will be better.I'm pretty sure you are right about the high levels of nicotine knocking out my girlfriend. However, she does occasionally smoke cigs (i know taboo now) so maybe its not? I don't mean to be harsh on Tangiers or anything. Many people said it was a great smoke. In my experience it was just not right.

Tangiers tobacco takes some people time to get used to. Kashmir peach -is- an intense flavour, but it's a really good one, in my opinion. It's also been my experience that packing a Tangiers bowl is quite different than most other brands. Heat management is crucial. Also, perhaps the smell/ taste you described could be remedied with acclimating the tobacco. I don't typically acclimate most brands of shisha but with Tangiers, I find that it helps. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience next time.

I know what you mean. It's not a tobacco made for everyone. I'm able to smoke it but head aches are frequent so I don't enjoy it as much as I do my other tobacco's. Especially since Hookah is the only form of smoke I tend to inhale, I'm even less used to the feelings of nicotine...I have a couple of samples from Mush that I smoke on the rare occassion but only if the occassion is VERY rare.

Heat management is pretty critical with the tangiers kashmir peach, and i really wouldnt recommend tangiers to people who are smoking hookah for the first time. It usually kicks your ass and the "kashmir" only adds to the intensity of the buzz. Overall though i enjoy kashmir peach very much.

"Tangiers...its not all things for all people."I know several people that HATE Kasmir Peach and Kashmir apple. Thats why I always tell people, find things that you like rather than basing it on what Me or John or whomever like. Individual taste is a peculiar thing. Send me a PM, I'm sure we canwork something out.

Kashmir Peach seems to be a flavor people either love or hate. Many on the forum adore the stuff, but most (or, rather, all) of the people I smoke with hate it. I could take it or leave it as I don't dislike it, but it's not in my top flavors. I do like the peach flavor, but the perfumyness of it gets to me after a while. 40 or so minutes in I just have to hang up the hose.

I like Kashmir but I have a friend who won't touch the stuff. Though Tangiers cocoa is his favorite smoke. He also hates peach tobacco with a passion, it does not matter which brand??? To each his own.

In my humble opinion Tangiers hits it right on the head. Everyone has a different taste opinion. And espcially for something as complicated as smoking Shisha! If we were smoking chicken... then i guess it would be more generic [IMG]smileys/smiley36.gif" align="middle" /> JD

I noticed you said you used and entire 3 kings charcoal. In my perperience that was likely WAY too much heat.I sue a pice of finger coal about half the size of a 3 kings and have no problems. sometimes one that size on eith side f the bowl, but you may have run into the "USE LOW HEAT" problem a lot of people have. At first i couldnt believe how "little" coal was actually needed.  $.02

The one thing I am noticing is the part about the difficulty mixing up the shisha because it is in the 100gm sample pack. Try dumping it in a bowl and stirring it up with a couple of forks. Then put it in a container that is easier to use. Especially if it is older shisha it seems worth a try.

I tried the flavor because I happen to like most of the "non-fruit" flavors. All the outstanding reviews made me have to try it. If I try it again I will definetly try to use less coal. Perhaps it was the way I set up the holes around the funnel?

I could use a whole 3kings coal and the bowl wouldn't get harsh... there will be times where it may be on the verge of harshness but just simple coal maintanence remedies that right away... another trick is to not poke so many holes in the foil... and don't use a screen.. a screen seems to give off to much heat and naturally have a lot of holes. (It's just easier to manage, for me at least... with foil that is) I poke about 15-17 holes, not neccessarily focusing on a certain area. Evenly spreak holes across the foil and don't make the holes to big.I personally like to sprinkle a little bit of Al Amir Raspberry on top of packed Kashmir Peach. Gives a good little fruity kick. on exhale, you can taste the KP. Good stuff.
