Hookah_Husky
Last night browsing craigslist I searched "hookah" and came across an ad that I could not pass up. I contacted the guy and about 30 min later got a response and set up a time to meet today. So what did I get you ask? - 9 / 250g packs of Al Fakher Coconut Lemon Two Apples Orange Chocolate Vanilla Grape Watermelon Golden - Red Grape - 2 hoses - What looks to be a generic Egyptian hookah w/ a carry bag. - 1/3 of a box of Coco naras - Sahara Smoke vortex bowl Total price - $40 Needless to say I am quite happy. The guy I bought it from said he received everything as a gift, smoked a couple times and just did not like it. Everything is pretty clean. The hookah looks like he never even smoked out of it, no smell or anything. The bowl is a little dirty, but other than that, all the tobacco is still sealed, the only thing open are the coals. Going to give everything a thorough clean and set it up tomorrow to see how it smokes (expectations aren't high, but maybe I will be surprised). Fatalshizot
That's a steal, I'd resell the hookah and recuperate some of that cash!

Rani
There is another way to tell if it's an MZ. Every one I've ever seen had a dome at the top of the shank where the trays fits down around it almost snapping into place. 'Rani
mattarios2
I personally have never seen a confirmed MZ pipe without the MZ stamp on the tray.
Stuie
It looks like the old Nile by H-S back in the day. They had those jeweled purge valves about 6 years ago.

I can take some better pictures of it tomorrow and upload them (At work now).

Ahh, but you're assuming the original retailer was above board. Not all retailers sell you "all original equipment". Unfortunately. 'Rani

Hookah_Husky
Also, if it helps the carry bag it came with says "NOUR - Compleet Nargila By Karabetian" I googled "Karabetian" and came across a website for an importer based out of LA, but was unable to find this particular hookah on their website. Stuie
Bag isn't necessarily what it is. Wrong nut and Bowl adapter end for an MZ ...IMO.
Rani
Bag isn't necessarily what it is. Wrong nut and Bowl adapter end for an MZ ...IMO. I agree. That's not a dome typical of an MZ. (The MZ domes are very round like a ball sunk halfway down into something.) Looks like perhaps a generic that the manufacturer tried to make like an MZ? The vase is similar to what MZ put out with their shanks a few years ago, but other manufacturers used them as well. Bottom line is how does it smoke? Nothing else matters. A Sharrp SYBIAN
its a generic galvanized steel Egy not really worth much you should keep it if it smokes ok if not sell it on ebay and try getting some of your money back!
Hookah_Husky
Well I packed a bowl with AF Mango & AF Kiwi and tried it out tonight. I was using the hose that it came with and it was quite restrictive, so I changed to my nammor hose and it smokes surprisingly better than I expected. The only problem I have with it is stability. Due to the very narrow base, it wobbles quite a bit. Not just from smoking either, but when I pass the hose to my mate it causes it to not only wobble, but the whole hookah turns (remedied the spinning with a silicone trivet). Not sure yet if I will be keeping it, selling it, or giving it to a friend.

A Sharrp SYBIAN
For the Shisha you got alone 40$ wouldve been a good deal what you can do is sell the pipe for 25$ then keep all the accessories and buy a better edgy pipe like a MZ or KM or farida / shika w/e lol lately i became a fan of megahead pipes. thehelios
I personally have never seen a confirmed MZ pipe without the MZ stamp on the tray. The Hookah Bros pipe I have is an MZ but doesn't have the stamp on the tray. Per Rani, it does have the "semi-sphere" or dome at the top where the tray sites. Such a shame that they don't make pipes anymore. This thing is built, like the Mya of the Egyptian pipe world.

Such a shame that they don't make pipes anymore. This thing is built, like the Mya of the Egyptian pipe world. They are supposedly making a comeback. I see a few MZ's on ultimatehookah and some other places. They are doing more solid pipes which IMHO, they should have done from the get go. As for the tray determining whether it is an MZ or not, I didn't consider mixing and matching of pieces, sucks that vendors/distributors/whoever does that. If I order an MZ, I want the entire thing to be an MZ, ya know?
