New Potential Purchase: Tangiers!

Recommended Posts

So I'm about out of shisha and coals, and got a decent check from work today, and want to try out tangiers shisha, and the new phunnel bowl. I was orignally going to buy the shisha and bowl from hookahkings, but after seeing that the shisha was only 100g samplers, and that hookahcompany sold 250g packs for just $4 more, I decided to go with them when I make my purchase. I'm most likely, unless you guys sway me otherwise, going to buy:3x 250g Tangiers (Blueberry, Kashmir Peach, and Red Tea)1x Phunnel Bowl1x box of coals, need to decide. I recently tried some of the japanese style coals free of charge from my local hookah bar, and while I liked that they were odorless and tasteless, I found heat management to be pretty difficult and I kept burning the shisha. I like to think I am good at heat management, as I can keep a hookah going strong for 1 1/2 hours+ in my mya bowl with two rounds of instalites, but I don't really dig the subtle flavor the instalites provide. Convienience is a big factor for me, so I've been eyeing 3 kings coals since they apparently are better quicklights than the Golden Coals brand. Are these really any good? Please help me decide!

3Kings coal are great and convenient, I mean it beats haveing to resort to the oven every time a coal is needed... but from what I've read from other people, they aren't any better or worse than Golden QL.As far as flavors, I would say good selection. But just so you know, Red Tea isn't a "BURSTING" with flavor tobacco. It's very suble taste which does immitate that of tea. It's a good non-fruity resort. So if you want something flavorful, pick another flavor. If not, go for it. Not a bad smoke. :)

As for the coals, i highly recommend 3 kings quicklites over the Golden quicklites. The goldens have an odd taste to them thats noticeable. I use 3 kings when i travel, but i usually like to stick to Abu Hitham or Golden Canary japanese coals at home.

eh im not liking red tea. i hate unsweetned tea, and thats what it tasted like, unsweet hard tea. Im gonna try it again with my mya bowl.Which i would reccomend not smoking tangiers out of the bowl ur first time using it :P i screwed up and burnt it alot, cause the bowl is intresting to work. Need to get my technique down before i smoke tangiers out the bowl again :P

Okay I'm gonna buy a tangiers bowl in green/white, 250g Blueberry, and 250g Kashmir Peach. I'll try the Red Tea some other time, I can't justify the purchase of another 250g tub of Tangiers since I'm going to go with the Canary Japanese Golden Charcoals. Thanks for the input guys, I can't wait for it to get here!
tangiers blueberry is an amazing flavor. you need a lot of heat with tangiers, though, so slap on 2 33mm quicklights (on top of a standard tangiers bowl) and you should be set for an hour.
I've always used less heat for tangiers.... Those sound like good flavor choices.

Ah, I see. Thanks. By the way, I just recieved my shipment of goodies. The blueberry and kashmir peach flavors smell amazing and are so gooey and nice looking. I put them in separate tupperware containers and mixed them up, and now I'm just letting them aclimate, as we've been having some wet weather lately here in Colorado. As for the bowl, it looks great. Very well crafted, and while it may not be the exact color I ordered, it's still very nice looking and will go well with my QT. The charcoals are all still in tact, to kudos to hoookahcompany for that. So yeah, what I'm really trying to say is that I am extremely excited to try all of my loot out. Thorough reviews will come. Pictures too, once I find batteries for my camera.

I apologize for the double post, but I feel what I'm about to say deserves another post to itself. I am now smoking the Kashmir Peach with my friends on the new phunnel bowl on my QT, and I have to say, this is THE BEST hookah experience I have ever had. I've been smoking for over a year now frequently, and I have never had a flavor so good, smoke so smoothe, or a buzz so strong until now. Thank you Tangiers for just being... awesome!

If broken up into 1/4s, each 1/4 will only last about 15 minutes. Any less than 1.75 (3 halves, one quarter) in my experience has never produced enough smoke, and I routinely use two 33mm (4 halves) to get thick smooth smoke for about 30 minutes. When using Japanese Goldens, I get the same results (but with better taste + added smoke time) using 4 coals. From my experience, 1/2 33mm Three Kings = 1 Japanese Canary Goldens.
