wvloony
Ok, so I have been using ccn for the past few months, but now I'm curious. Which are better the ccn or the coco ultimates that matter is selling.
dizzbizz
I prefer the ccn because the ultimates have been breaking a lot on me. It gets really annoying after a while. Also they're not as hot, however I can deal to save $5 on coals. The cheapest I get ccn is $15 flat.

joytron
Coco-ultimates do break more often and have a less regular shape, but for the price they can't be beat. The only coal I use now.
mattarios2
No worries about the misspelling wv. I agree w previous comments. As long as you are gentle with your coals, the coco ultimates won't break. But they are more fragile than CCN. As stated, I agree, for the price, they can't be beat. I like how they are lower heat because I crack them in half and they are perfect for Tangiers and also work well with Nakhla, which are the only 2 brands I smoke. wvloony
well i guess the only thing i can do is when i finally get around to ordering some nakla from you, i will pick up a box of ultimates, and compare them myself.
dizzbizz
That's really the only way you can decide. I'm sure you'll go with the ultimates. On a side note, ccn's have been breaking on me. I don't think I slam then into my carrier. Maybe I just don't know my own strength :-)

cenlakoke
I personally love ultimates. I haven't had the breaking issue you speak of but I also haven't ordered any in the 8 months or so. So that might be a new problem. I have just had bad luck with naras with their QC issues. Plus the price of ultimates is pretty smoking good. A lot better than naras in my opinion. Chreees
I use Coconaras regularly, but hope to try Coco Ultimates whenever I get around to ordering from John. I have so much to smoke first, though!

Chreees
Eh, I don't think japs are worth it... If you prefer to spend more money per coal/duration and spend more time fiddling with your coals, then go for them.

If you prefer to spend more money per coal/duration and spend more time fiddling with your coals, then go for them. To be honest one of the big reasons I stick with coco's is because they're way more clean than other coals. Nothing i hate more than a messy hookah. Pavo21
i dont spend more money or time on japs coco cost more whole sale and burn hotter paying more and burning my bowl. im not gonna buy coals i need to cut to work properly

I stand them up on their side when I need less heat. I know, Eric frowns upon this, but it works just fine for me. As for cost, we can't all live in Cali. :)
A Sharrp SYBIAN
When it comes to cost, CocoNara aren't that expensive i found a place that sells em for 12$ however i learned that without a kaloud lotus they are problematic (they get hotter than i remember) :-( pnce i run out i may switch to coco-ultimates. Still they aren't nearly as bad as Starbucks coco whatevers lol CN were always good coals i guess i have to get used to them again w/o using the lotus. Chreees
Yeah, I usually pay $12. It helps to find them locally at a Middle Eastern grocery store... taxes aren't near as much as shipping costs, and the price is typically a couple bucks less, so you save money. There were two pretty awesome stores in Middle TN where I would buy mine. Now that I've moved back to West TN, I'll have to find another one. I'm sure Jackson or Memphis will have one, probably Memphis...
mattarios2
It takes a second to cut coco ultimates. I can cut an entire box in less than 10 minutes. You use less coal, and they are an insanely good price. I'd rather spend 10 minutes on a box and make my coals last twice as long. Half coals on Tangiers works beautifully. Not sure about CCN since they are hotter but half coco ultimates are a breeze with Tangiers and they are hot enough to still work for Nakhla. I generally use 1 extra half for nakhla vs tangiers.
