Common Or Traditional?

well turks with male ports do this as well.. like my el nefes lol! as for the Kasbah phunnels compared to what I am used to which are (tangiers, other good bowls) Kasbah is crap. my friend uses it on his 632 and from the looks.. clay amount and glaze they look crappy to me.

I made my own copper adapter from Mattarios's how-to and it works great with my female bowls on my Elmas. Maybe things aren't as crappy as you would think they are.

Female port definitely for the win.

As knighthawk said you can buy a $3 piece from lowes or home depot, wrap some tape around the bottom of it, then a grommet on the top of it, and use it as a converter for your tangiers/egyptian bowls. And then don't use it for your turk bowls.

So you get the best of both worlds with a female port.

I will also testify to the superiority of turkish clay bowls for most tobaccos, the down stem drip is a plus, and they look good :P Honestly isnce I got my turkish gear I prettyy much forgot about everything else :D

I use turks, syrians, egyptians and my one american pipe all equally. I like em all for different reasons. There is no "best", that's far too general. Figure out what's "best" for you and roll with it. If you don't like turks, you probably won't like syrians, and you can probably save a lot of money and be happier.

NEVER! Female ports=bad unless you know you like the crappy Kasbah phunnel or the crappy adapters xP

Crappy Kasbah funnel? Strange, we never made that model ;) We haven't heard a complaint yet but I'm interested in why you feel that way. The material is very high-quality stoneware and the glazes are top notch Mayco foodsafe hi-temp glazes.

High quality is right, I tried to shorten the shaft of it with a hacksaw and it dulled my saw and would not give!

Same goes for the tang bowls. I tried sanding the inside of the bottom of one down and it took days before It even made a difference.

well im not here to bash the product its just my opinion... it feels flimsy  the grip just doesn't seem right and it takes a lot of tobacco compared to my crown

I have no problem with the Kasbah funnel, i've only heard good things. But I just use Tangiers phunnels with my little copper piece mod thingy that I bought at lowes so the bowls fit on turk pipes.

I prefer to find a converter to make the pipe friendly with both bowls, rather than a bowl for the pipe, that way I don't have to worry about breaking the bowl and being screwed.

Flimsy? What part about it being sawproof is flimsy? It may take more tobacco compared to a crown mini or micro, or whatever, but it takes WAY less than a Tangiers small, or nearly any other bowl on the market.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. The Kasbah phunnel is solid as fuck. The main spire of it is slim, but it's still very rigid and solid. What do you mean "grip"? As mentioned by Hass and John, it's really not much compared to Tangiers Smalls (I still think I use less in it then the new smalls). I would say the amount of tobacco I use is about in line with what I use in a Harmony bowl, which is to say, not much at all. Anyways, I imagine if you are on a  tight hookah budget a difference of 5-10 grams is a big deal, but I care more about how well a bowl smokes vs. how much tobacco I use in it. The Kasbah smokes great, and I think the coating/glaze on it is much higher quality than any of the other glazed bowls I've used.

I lost you when you said it's too flimsy but you use Crown bowls  ;) Regardless, yes, there are improvements that can be made to the aesthetics (such as making it lower profile much like a Leb/Turk bowl) and yes, if we make another run it will be a new version. I like to hear valid criticism that can help improve the bowl but just as Tyler said, I'm not sure I follow your logic for not liking it. But to each their own! That's what's awesome about this hobby, there is something there for everyone so if you don't like something you can try other alternatives.... but I guess not in this case because there is not another stoneware male funnel on the market  :D

Actually the Kasbah takes more flavor then my small pico and my crown bowl... overall I just wasn't feeling the bowl  itself.. a waste in my opinion. great male bowl I guess? just uncomparable when it comes to my tangiers, crown and harmony, alien
