What Kind Of Coals Do You Use At Home?!

Recommended Posts

I've been using Razans for the past probably year or so and now that I'm on my last box and a half, I think it's finally time to move on and find another coal to switch to. The last coals I was using before Razans were Coco-Nara's but I remember them starting to drop off on quality and emit a smell while lighting and began to give me headaches. So; what coals do you use, and why do you use them over other brands? I've always been more of a fan of coconut coals, because they are less mess, the silver stuff gives me a headache if I piggyback them, and they last longer (since I can't piggyback I have to get up to light more every 20 minutes using japs)

So, I'd rather get opinions on coconut coals, but others are welcome..

Just really looking to find out what coals I should try.

coco-ultimates.

Is that what we were using at your place? I liked those

Yeah, I prefer them to the Razan coals.

Why? I haven't used em, and my Razan case will prob last me a lifetime, but I'm interested in good alternatives

I always felt Razans muted lighter flavors.

There may be something to that. I don't have many light flavors, but the ones I have seem VERY VERY light. I've been using Razans for such a while though that I can't remember otherwise...

Actually, Nate, I forgot about them but just now, but the Mya genie coals are pretty fantastic. I was skeptical (because of the cheesy-ass packaging) but if you read my review, I was VERY VERY impressed.* If you smoke Tangiers a lot I recommend them even more as they're significantly less hot than other coconut coals
