grock
I came across these last night when looking at HoH's website, and saw something really interesting: Belgian Coals. It also says that they are NOT quicklights, but need longer exposure to heat, such as natural coals. In addition to this, there seems to be 3 different types, and the only thing I can gather is Regular, XL, and "Natural". I tried to find reviews but couldn't find much. I LOVE trying new hookah stuff, so I really want to test these out. I am curious if anyone has any information so I can get an idea of what I'd be buying. Thanks! Travis
I've received these with purchased hookahs before, they are definitely "quick lights" in a sense. They're more like easy lights, not as dense of a coal so lighting them literally takes about 1 minute and they dont last much longer than that. grock
Man, that's disappointing... I was hoping they were similar to naturals due to the description. Thanks!
Bawhee
Ok, I tried all of the belgian charcoal and the 40mm rolls that are tagged as natural are sorta like a QL if you were to remove the quick lighting but somehow keep the smell/taste of the quicklight. Its not great Im afraid :P still better than regular QL coals but might as well go for any more quality nats instead.
hookedonhookah
Hi Grock! Thank you for the order! We hope you enjoy the flavors you chose. Your order was shipped Thursday morning and should only take 2-3 business days to arrive. Also, about the 40mm Natural Belgian Charcoal (Green/Yellow Rolls). Those are 100% Natural... you heat them up just like any other natural. They take roughly 7 - 10 minutes to heat up. Once heated they last anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how you are smoking it. I would only recommend these coals if you are using a large bowl like the phunnel just because the coals are massive. Once your tobacco is heated, they smoke like a champ! They do look just like self-lights but I assure you they are completely natural coals. They are not very popular in the US but they are probably the best coals we've ever tried in our lounges. Anyways, I hope this information was helpful and I hope everyone on here is doing well! If anyone has any questions feel free to pm us or ask us on our thread in the Vendor Section. grock
Ahh, Im glad you saw this!!! I actually meant to order a roll to test out since it was only like $2-3, BUT, I forgot to add it to my cart. I was bummed. Didnt feel like paying for shipping just for that. Next time I order from you guys (If I like the product, I'm sure I will) I am definitely going to pick some up. I'm so excited for all of it to arrive on Saturday. 2 day shipping from Colorado to Maryland??? Crazy stuff. I am especially excited to try the Pumpkin Vanilla mix I put together. :D

mushrat
I actually used the green belgian natural's for a while at my lounge. They were actually quite nice. Lasted about as long as a ql but lit a bit faster on my burner. Very convienient but the cost made it prohibitive in a lounge setting.
Bawhee
I used them for a bit before bamboocha nats came to slovenia and the belgian nats are far inferior :P
