What Hose Did I Get?

Recommended Posts

I was told it was a narb but it looks diff from my friend's narb it has a bigger end and gold lining around it instead of silver. Were the old versions diff from the new ones?

It feels nice and has a very long handle the handle is much longer than the narbish i was using at my friend's place.

after doing more research i think my narb hose could be a fake. The real Narbs all have clear tips and say "Narbish" on them. This hose has matching blue tips and doesn't say anything on it It smokes good but i hope it doesn't fall apart when i wash it :-( wish i can ask an expert.

i had a blue narb v4 that was very similar to that one blue/gold, rope handle with only pom-pom on the end not on the bottom of the handle part.. I think my narb came with those directions. Maybe its a v3 or v2, which were known to have larger hose port tips.Only other hose I dont know much about are razan.

After tons of comparisons to the real Narb and word from other various vendors, its official my new narb is a counterfeit :-(

After finally smoking with it I must say This hose is Awesome. The Draw was much wider than i expected i smoked out of a "real" / new Narb that seemed to have a wider and shorter handle this hose has a draw way more open. It is more open than my Nammor as well I didn't expect much from this hose going into today. It puts my SSPL and Reel SSPL hoses to shame. All in all i think im happy i didnt buy the "real" narb/ narb V4. the color hue on this matches my pipe perfectly. Also last night we were smoking a insane mix of the remaininder of my Cane Mint, tang cocoa and to fill the rest of the bowl i added a touch of Nakhla earl grey. End result was fantastic best smoke I have had in a while. I expected it to taste pretty bad but it was smooth tasted great and had a strong buzz because essentially Nak Earl grey is the strongest tobacco i ever tasted very black, dry and heavy (probably has more nicotine than tang burly)

Also yes i had a noob moment where i used my Lotus ill admit laziness is a problem of mine.

Congrats on liking the hose.

As far as laziness using a lotus?

It really takes 2 seconds to foil and poke holes.

The maintenance involved to clean the lotus at minimum equals the time it takes to foil a bowl.

If you like the lotus, you like the lotus, just say it :-)

well that isnt true if the bowl isn't over packed. nothing gets on the lotus. and you don't really clean you just rinse and put it back in the box lol or maybe i just slightly under pack i level it a little below the spire every evenly. Cleaning the lotus varies but i don't really clean it because i rarely get any tobacco on it now. before i used to clean it a lot but if you use the right packing method the lotus is a breeze and saves a lot of time. Plus i paid like 35$ shipping included for mine lol Now if i was 1 of those ppl who had to spend 50+ shipping idk if i can justify buying it lol

The Lotus isnt bad. Yes ill admit it i like the lotus! happy? lol plus i never use the lotus top when i smoke i leave it to warm it up then i take it off before smoking :-)

So Carbon monoxide problem aborted...

Also when i don't use the Lotus i use a lotus like foil method with a slight variation. See The lotus makes the bowl a lot cleaner because: (A.) no ash falls into the bowl

and (B.) it keeps the coals in place and has a rim around preventing them from falling off. If i dont have a lotus w me i normally make 4 slits on each end like a compass style N-S E-W. and all i need is a pocket knife (much earlier than making a ton of holes. Then i just make a little hole in the spire. Takes 5 seconds smokes beautifully . For those who want lotus like results with foil give it a try!

Also DO not use more than 1 layer of Foil or heat management  would be a bitch and you would waste to many coals. I made a pic of when i 1st tried that method with 2 layers of foil and it worked but used more coals than i would have liked i finally perfected it so i will eventually make a How-to Lotus foil method video...

I usually drink a lot when smoking so i use the lotus pretty often, as it is drunk people proof. i would have to be sober to poke holes even w my simple lotus foil method! Sorry for double-posting
