Stuie
I think a big thing is people don't know what a life commitment means any more. I have seen marriages survive affairs, death of a child, Porn addiction, gamling addiction, alcoholism.... and more. But most people abandon ship at a rough patch. Going into my marriage, no matter what, the one word we both agreed to never use is divorce. My Grandparents celebrate thier 60th wedding anniversary this past summer, Parents 38th this May. I'm very inclined to agree with you. Marriage is seen as disposable. No one want to try and work through problems anymore. My wife and I also said the same thing. Divorce will never enter the options on the table. And me and her come from opposite backgrounds. My parents have been married 44 years. Her mom(the parent she lived with) is on marriage number 3. Her Dad is on his second. Until she met me, she swore she would never get married or have kids.
Chreees
Yep, marriage doesn't seem so sacred anymore to people. My wife and I aren't even religious, but our marriage is VERY important to us. We cherish it. We cherish each other. What I find so funny is the people who claim marriage is only between a man and woman because it is so sacred just happen to also have been married and divorced several times. If it is so sacred to them then why would they get married so many times? I mean, I understand things happen sometimes but damn. Let gay people be able to be just as miserable. Not to mention, doesn't the Bible condemn divorce? /endrant Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
