agunn1231
My last few bowls of Tangiers Apple have tasted like coal, and nothing else. I have been smoking this flavor almost exclusively for over a month, and just recently this has started happening, It smells just fine, I am packing the same way as I usually do, and am using the same type of foil, the same type of coals, and the same amount of coals as usual, I have tried using fewer coals, and it just makes less coal flavor, and nothing else. The only real differing factor lately is that the weather has gone from being in the 50's, to -8 for a bit after a snow storm and now back to in the low 40's over the past few days. When the storm hit, it still tasted fine, and now it doesn't...I have no clue what is going on, as this has never happened to me before.
Pavo21
all i know is that when it gets cold i notice less of everything with any type of tobacco latley at night its been about 40 or lower which is COLD for socal. and i need a bit more heat for my bowls but loss in flavour could have to do with the weather wouldnt' surprise me at all. all i can say alex is switch it up if you can if not try and keep thehouse a bit warmer to see if that helps
agunn1231
Been trying to keep the house at about 75, but open the patio door to smoke, I'll try Welsh cream tomorrow, see what happens.
Chreees
Didn't you have this issue with another flavor? Or am I confusing this issue with your certain flavors making you sick issue? Hard to keep track.
Bawhee
I will add a +1 to the cold making everything taste less, keep your smoking spot nice and warm and see if it helps!

Chreees
Ahh. That's right. Let us know how it goes. Have you cleaned everything out lately?
agunn1231
Cleaned it all out yesterday before smoking, Today the apartment was about 80 degrees inside and in the high 40's outside, I threw a round of coals on the bowl I tried to smoke last night, and it tasted just fine. So it was likely the weather...I did however burn out on apple with this happening, So I am gonna switch it up for a few days.
A Sharrp SYBIAN
Unfortunately, this is a period where if you want results your best bet would be either smoking indoors or wait till spring to smoke outside. Good Luck!

Good Luck! I am in my living room, but the apartment has poor insulation and if the vent in the bedroom is open the living room doesnt heat up when the heat is on, but I would rather the cat be warm, than me be warm. I switched it up to vanilla and no issues at all, I will just blame this on the weather shift, and the fact i was at the bottom of teh tupperwear of Apple. First time with vanilla, and I really enjoy it, it has a strong tobacco undertone, similar to a vanilla pipe tobacco.
A Sharrp SYBIAN
mine has a little tobacco undertone but i taste the vanilla its awesome. I hate Nakhla Vanilla though when i tried reg line Nak vanilla it tasted straight up like tobacco, nearly no flavor or sweetness at all :-( i was very disappointed with it.
