Been Out Of The Game Soo Lonnng (Newer Af Flavors)

Recommended Posts

Yo homeskillets,

I haven't bought shisha in like....3 years?  So my girlfriend and I are headed out to Dearborn for a date tomorrow eve and I want to stop and grab some new tobacco while we're there to smoke when we return, I'll be going with AF.  Esk Apple for sure but then what?

I see flavors I am heretofore unfamiliar with when I google the Fahker.  I am intrigued.  *caresses beard*

Cherry Mint.  Energy Drink.  Fresh Mist.  Grape Berry.  Grape Cream.  Grapefruit.  Orange Cream.  Strawberry Cream.

Are these any good (particularly interested in the bold flavs)?  Links to reviews, general consensus?  Make it easy on an old man?  Thanks party people.

- Mark

All the cream flavors are whatever flavor premixed with vanilla. So orange cream tastes like a creamsicle, really good.

Energy drink is hit or miss with people. Some people hate it, I love it.

Fresh mist is AF take on starbuzz blue mist, but a different formula. Its more "dull" but I prefer it over starbuzz.

AF is my go to brand since its cheap, smokes very well, and everyone around Georgia has it.

All of AF is not as good as it used to be. All of their amazing flavors are crap now. It sucks because they did have at least a handful of gem flavors for a while.

Bingo.

The majority of their flavors are rubbish now. I've found orange, strawberry, and melon to be the least nastified, but I haven't had any of them in over a year.

If you're in Dearborn, stock up on cheap Nakhla (there's a lot of new Mizo stuff, plus the newish "Mix" line which is pretty good too).   All the Nakhla flavors you know and love have stayed the same (props to Nakhla!) Also, see if you can find a place that sells Havana, and see if they have the "Rowan/Rawan" flavor - it's very different and very good, almost like one of more sour SweetTarts candies.

Also, if you can find Al Rayan (Alrayan, etc), get their grape flavor, at a minimum. It's a near match for the classic Golden AF Grape that everyone fell in love with 10 years ago.

AF Orange is still one I like to pickup, But even the stuff I have bought in the past year doesn't taste as strong as it used to. Cutting costs on flavoring and keeping prices the same.

MARK! Been too long, bro. We missed you around here! Got any new tracks? I still bump the first one you posted on here time to time, haha.

I'd recommend going with Nakhla instead of Al Fakher. Their new Mizo line is ahhh-mazing! I quit smoking AF years ago, if that tells you anything. Nak, on the other hand, is always in my stash.

It's not just cutting costs by dialing back the flavor, I think the flavors themselves have changed for the worse, i.e. they're objectively different, not just weaker

Thank you so much fellas :)  I'm dissapointed to hear the quality cuts, AF had some major staples for me.  I can't handle Nak anymore, presubably neither could the lady.  Any washed brands that've assumed the throne AF once held?  And is Esk Apple still as good or has that gone downhill as well?

I've been doing pretty darn well lately, heading further down the music rabbit hole, looks like I'm headed to school for production and engineering, been taking a break from performance for a bit, starting in on new material for a sophomore (full length) album.  This week in fact.  Chris did you ever hear the whole EP back in 2012?  New shit's gonna be pretty darn tootin' evolved from there but that first effort's still got a major place in muh heart.

Good to see familiar (and new) faces.  I love y'all.  Starting to smoke again (probably much more casually) so I may be around now and again, I've always checked back now and again though my ninja skills have allowed me to pass through undetected.  Or maybe it's the lack of posts.

Sorry had to pull out my Washed list

360 Black Snow - Decent on most flavors
421 Tobacco - Good of what I have tried
Arena (by Al Fakher) - Good from what I hear
Coconara - a lot of people think it's an af clone but BLue Guava rocks!
Fumari - Still awesome. Still love Island Papaya
Havana - Despite the cheapness, some awesome flavors, check my reviews, think I have reviewed them all now
Tangiers (Birquq, Lucid) - Pretty awesome obviously.
Tonic - Stay away from pastry flavors and it's AMAZING! (Romulan and Cucumber Mint are my top 2 at the moment from them)

I heard the main track, plus one other I think. So long ago I can hardly remember, haha.

If you're looking for unwashed, have you tried the Mizo line of Nakhla? It's supposedly not washed, but it's not like the OG stuff. I find it to be way more flavor, and less buzz. Might be worth a try if you haven't already.

I still smoke AF Flavors, I am in love with the Arena though it is rare for me to get my hands on it.

I smoke the Golden Line stuff, Watermelon, Vanilla, Cinammon and a few other flavors, I mostly now buy it for mixers if I can't get ahold of Nakhla it is the most commonly available locally so I make do smoking it. I also recommend Fantasia I like the Surfer, Audios M*$%ker, Incredible, Magic Dragon as well as Haze has been rolling out some perfect flavors, I can't stop smoking my Haze Mint Fiesta I finished my Haze IceBERG the other day and I went through a 250g of SubZero in a day. I want to get my hands on some Pumpkin Pleasure soon.

It doesn't bother me washed or unwashed anyway, If I don't feel a flavor has enough kick I mix dokha in to my shisha.

Yeah Mizo is unwashed but it doesn't hit quite as hard as OG. I assume because there is more liquid ie less tobacco in the mizo and you cook the tobacco much more evenly with mizo b/c of the juices versus the more gooey less juicy OG.

I used to like a few flavors from fantasia, their blueberry and pink lemonade were both really good.

And fusion I also loved before they went to their washed formula.

Maybe try some flavors from those 2 brands.

Thanks thanks :)  I grabbed the Esk Aple and some orange mint (I'm iffy on it, she loves it).  They have the Mizo blueberry and Lychee at my shop of choice (along with the others) so I'll grab those and some other AF golden next.  And probs some better SB flavos since they have them fairly cheap down the road.  I asked about the cherry mint but it wasn't in stock yet and they're the official AF supplier in Dearborn.  Grabbed an old school QT as well for funsies.

Thanks much, peeps :)  And thank you for the snuggly welcome, made me smile.

Chris, here's a link to the full EP, homie!: http://volume.bandcamp.com/
