3D Printing Hookah And Hookah Parts

Recommended Posts

That's awesome! Hope that works out. I wish i had something that can scan anything and make it into CAD I will probably have to write a letter to Eric of Tangiers asking for permission if i can scan and 3d print a silicone prototype of a Tangiers Pico bowl.  lol How do you even build a 3d digitizer :-( I am so far behind in tech lately that it's sad...

 I'm sure he'll say sure, no problem...

It's not like i will make more than sell i just want to make 1 for myself and that is it I love tang phunnels but that would be the ultimate party bowl a silicone tangiers pico that is unbreakable If Eric would let me make 1 i would make him 1 as well lol and they would be the only 2 concepts i produce i wouldn't use it for profit nor would i steal his idea.

Nothing on Facebook either I know you wouldn't but I am keeping it from a few competitors who I have added I don't want them knowing I signed with boeing or am expanding lol but after I wrote that I just got a call and I am going to be flying to ohio for a few months for a funeral and to comfort some people so I may have to either put this project on hold or appoint someone to be the executive decision maker for the time being. Anyone up in ohio wanna smoke? Ill be in milford area haha

Buddy of mine build a 3d digitizer that scans the object with lasers & sensors to scan the object. Its easy to start off in cad a hookah but I wanted a particular design and it took a few hours off. I haven't been working on it I have the boeing part director here and we have been going over designs and prototypes the past few days. Hint: Why I haven't been on so much in the past few days.

Oh no I get that, I'm just saying the lasers would reflect off the chrome of the hookah, how did you get around that issue? My first 3D scan looked like some guy was writing and had a seizure.

The hookah I used was like a stainless steel with a flat light gun metal grey I didn't have a issue and if you do have problems like that I suggest lowering the lights whether you turn them off and use a few lamps or if you just take it to a different room. I have my digitizer in a 4x4x10ft room where I have lights pointed in the corners and one under the table that way all the light is absorbed a little by the white paint. Another tip is spraying the item a flat color but I didn't bother with the hookah. I do that with parts or specific items I normally paint it flat white or flat black but I've also done it pink green Etc what ever was the cheapest at Walmart in the flat section.

Btw my digitizer is appraised for 8500 with each laser being 2,000 (new) and the body, servos, motors, turn table, etc... and the

Oops, I think you dropped this Addison.

For real though, stay on topic. If you want to talk about all the money you have and all the things you are buying and all the contracts you are getting, go into one of the off topic sub-forums, like General Chit-Chat.

3D print hose ports/handles/mouthtips and use a silicone tube to connect everything. Homemade hose with your own designs.

Downstem attachment for a diffuser. I know 5starhookah has a new plastic diffuser that splits the downstem into 4 trees with slits for more diffusion, quieter and smoother smoke.

Another thing I would love to see implemented is a "snap-on" tray adapter for Egyptian hookahs. Khalil Mamoon trays are not secured to the tray rest; you could make a little circle piece (in 2 parts) and glue it to the tray rest, so the tray stays centered.

Purge valve caps. You could make a fancy design with more airflow than the standard KM purge valve caps.

If you have access to a lathe, you could always make a wooden pipe and fit an ABS or PPL downstem in it, with your own purge valve and hose port attached

The possibilities are endless.

Those are some good ideas.

Addison, I will post a picture later today of something that could inspire a "skirt" type diffuser.  Can you print with a flexible material like silicone?

Do a purge cap with a propeller or a whistle.

Unfortunately the tray adapter might melt with coals too close to it.
