Addison Roberts
IS there a difference between brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminum pipes? I have a glass and love them because of the purity of smoke. Is this the same with these or just difference in the smoke it produces or flavors? Codyb88
Purity? I've never noticed a "purity" issue with my pipes they're both brass but one has a stainless steel downstem the other is copper. If you wash them with lemon juice there's no issue just scrub them. Personally I dislike glass hookahs. I think they look cool but are ultimately fragile decorations. A Sharrp SYBIAN
There is no difference in "purity" It all depends on how clean you keep your pipes. I have had glass pipes, Brass pipes and stainless steal pipes. Brass are by far the heaviest and feel the most solid. Stainless steal pipes smoke fine but they just feel cheap imo. Glass pipes have always been way to fragile for me. Just when buying a brass pipe make sure to buy a good hose. Don't drill the ports just buy a open hose like a ASLI or Narbish. Chreees
No difference, as long as you take proper care and maintenance of your pipes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Addison Roberts
Okay I just like the way glass pipes hit. It tastes cleaner than other hookahs, easy to clean, look cool, and I know they are fragile but I take care of my glass pipes as much as I can. I just want to get a hookah but I want it to be like my glass pipes. The way they hit. The way the smoke feels. Etc... mattarios2
No difference, but in terms of the inside pipe a copper or brass inside is preferable because it helps turn carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide when the brass/copper oxidizes. Skoozle
Copper and brass down tubes might give you a metallic taste if you are really sensitive to it and maybe being used to your glass might make it more noticeable. If I haven't cleaned my brass or copper pipe I get a little metallic taste if I suck air through the hose port or down tube. Stainless wouldn't have a taste if it's cleaned. As for the open draw, I don't know how open your glass is, but an Egyptian style pipe would give you the most open draw of a commonly available pipe. You could try to find a Regal or something along those lines but good luck. You could try out a stainless Egyptian pipe and see how you like it. If it doesn't turn you on, there's always the trades section.
A Sharrp SYBIAN
It just comes down to how clean the pipe is. Honestly Brass is teh way to go for Draw / openness you just need to upgrade the hose. get a narb or ASLI. Overall Brass and Copper are the way to go. king_lunchb0x
theres no difference really, but from what I hear if the glass hookah can be hard to clean...sometimes have to boil them. For me personally, I don't like the metallic/tin taste from brass/copper..i lie stainless (even if its just plated <_< ) but they are not as common as they used to be. Addison Roberts
I had a cheapo km I got and it was stainless and rusted on me. That was my first hookah though so I wasn't fully aware of drying it after I smoked. I was like 15 so no real common sense back then.. But anyways that's why I like glass because there's no rust but I just really wanna get into that traditional look again. Addison Roberts
I would wash it let it stand up for about 5 minutes then threw it in a box so I think that was the problem.
Chreees
Yeah, gotta let it properly dry out... What I do is let mine sit for the whole day or overnight, then store away. I also usually dry out the outside, and blow through all the ports to help speed up the process. I dunno why, I'm just anal like that. But I have noticed wiping the outside parts dry means you don't have to polish as often, so that's a plus!

Addison Roberts
Well I now have 2 shishavac's so I think I will be able to skip this process by 10 or so hours of drying. I am looking into buying a few hookahs from embers hookah lounge. They have some AMY's that they will sell me for cheap since they don't use their black ones that often. Ill try a used one out and then see where that goes.
Bawhee
I wouldnt generally wanna buy a used pipe from a lounge, I mean, cleaning is important and you can not possibly know how well they clean their stuff!
Chreees
I would avoid buying a hookah that's been used in a lounge, since it's likely seen heavy use. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try it out and see what you think.
Addison Roberts
I sorta work there I am not on their payroll nor do I even get paid but I go up there when low staffed and help out. Their hookahs are 3 months old and the black bases with the carbon stems have been used about 5 times since it's their back ups for busy nights. That's the only one I would buy. I will have to buy one later though I think me and buddy have a deal on this regal in the f's section. Now I need to buy a new tang bowl and some other stuff... Gotta sell some stuff on eBay so I can get more dou in MF...
Addison Roberts
I smoked out of a regal once and I loved it but do they rust easy? Any problems with the regal?
