I'm off to a new hookah spot...UPDATED W/REVIEW!

new to me anyways. I'm about to go check out Illusions in Palo Alto for you bay area peeps. its a lebanese restuarant that turns into a club thurs thru sat. they got full bar, 2 big screens, dj, and of course shisha! So ill put up a review when i get home 2nite for any people in the area that are curious...that is if im not too intoxicated! hehe i dont work 2morrow and its been a while since i gone out, so i wanna get some drinks in! got my slacks, alfani shoes, and nice dress shirt and im ready to parrrrtay! hopefully the shisha is nice i could go for a bowl after the long day i had at work and the all nighter i pulled doing math homework last nite. ill post my thoughts on this thread so i dont make another thread. stay tuned!!!!UPDATE!K hookahheads im back from illusions! First off let me say the place is incredibly nice! The restaurant is small but spacious, fully stocked bar with a LCD TV playing music videos of arabic/middle eastern music that is playing in the background. They had a case with premium cigars you can purchase and on top a mya hookah, damn the more I see them in person the more I want one, they are truly a work of art. Very nice patio area. Again not too big but roomy where you smoke shisha and can have dinner as well. Very nice murals of a countryside, a village and a beautiful mya hookah. My friends brother-in-law actually did all the murals for the place, he is an incredible artist. They also had big ass heat lamps and a nice looking fountain that was soothing as we were smoking (i'll get to the shisha in a minute). The club area is pretty damn big. Fully stocked bar with a DJ booth and 2 VIP areas with tables and one of them has a private fully bar. They have a big screen projection playing random music videos. Nice sound/lighting system, they were playing rap, hip-hop, reggaeton, and bay area music (or bay shit as we call it lol). Me and my friends got there 15 mins before 10 when the website says the club opens and there was no cover charge with a not so strict dress code. I'm assuming no cover charge unless theres an event. Grabbed a flyer their having something next saturday.The shisha. First off they use some pretty nice looking egyptian single hose hookahs. they looked to be about 35 inches. They have a 3 person per shisha rule and it was 6 of us so we ordered 2 at 15 bucks a pop. kinda pricey but ohh well. They didn't have many flavors, I think they randomly get flavors and brands, heck the owner didn't even know which brand. From what I remember they had peach, cherry, apple, double apple, and i think he said pharohs(?). We got peach and cherry. While we waited the bartender took our drink order and they are average priced for a club (6-10 bucks). They took a while to get us the shisha's which is what I didn't like. The peach tasted amazing, just like those trolli peach o's! The cherry however tasted kinda good at first but then started to taste like crap after about 15 minutes. my friend said it tasted like wood and was missing the schlak(sp?) lol. It looked like they used Nour finger coals and left the coal holder and tongs close by so we could grab coals as needed which was really nice. We smoked for about 45 mins or so before we went inside the club for some more drinks and fun.Overall very nice place. seemed kinda new so not too many people were there. a lotta mexicans were there and nice lookin latinas which was a plus in my book [IMG]smileys/smiley4.gif" align="middle" /> With more marketing that place is gonna get crowded quick. we are def gonna go back soon to check it out on a busier nite and get some more of that peach! i give this spot a 8/10 missing 2 points because it took so long to get our shisha and well it really wasnt that many people there. sorry its so long and goodnite!PS: the website is [url="http://www.illusionssuperclub.com"]http://www.illusionssuperclub.com[/url] and is actually called Illusions Fayrouz Dining & Entertainment. seems like a place I DEFINATELY wouldn't mind checking out. I think that'd be just about heaven on a good night with a few good lookin single women... yep. One question though (and I think it's obvious it isn't buuuutt I still have to ask...) is this place 18+ by any chance? Thanks for the review, bro.Oh yah, when you do eat there... if you like really nicely seasoned meet (mainly beef), try the Kefta. I reccomend it HIGHLY. Heheh yah.

I reccomend it HIGHLY.  Heheh yah.[/quote] Ohh yea kefta is excellent! i had some at off the hookah in sunnyvale, ca. and its was hella good! but as for the age thing. i think it may be 18+ on certain nights. The bouncer stamped us after checking our ID's and he said if you wanna drink you need a stamp. So that gave me the impression on a regular night ie: no flyer event like the one i grabbed for next saturday it is 18 and up. Then again when we got drinks they didnt ask to check our stamps, but then again maybe i just look old. they were some HOT looking girls there that did not look to be 21 however. your best bet is to give the place a call. again thats if you wanna go after hours (10pm-2am). If you wanna go eat and smoke shisha, then its a regular restaurant so yea go have some relaxing fun on the patio. its freakin nice! hope this helped!
