Aftermarket accessories & DYI items

Recommended Posts

This thread is a place to read and post about aftermaket and DYI items for hookah smokers. I am starting it in hopes that it will make it easier for everyone to gather/share information on this topic. This is basically for everything you buy or make for your hookah - bowls, hoses, screens, lights, decorations, etc. It does not include consumables - charcoal, shisha, . But if you found a item or made something that makes your smoking better and more enjoyable, let us all in on it here. Thanks. *Moderators note*I've been asked to keep this thread on topic by the OP, like the Review threads. So lets keep the comments useful please. Mushrat

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ADME:L:RTQ:US:1I purchased this hinged windscreen on ebay and it works great. It really is attractive and strurdy. Nice fit and finish. Once the pipe is up to temp I find even a tiny coal will keep things running smooth. It's so effecient that you can easily scorch your shisha with the amount of coals you'd normally use without a cover. The package includes a standard egyptian ceramic bowl, metal screen and flip up cover. It can be latched but it isn't necessary. Fine tuning of the heat is possible by lifting the cover partially. Moving coals is easy enough. BTW any cover will get hot so don't touch with bare hands once it's hot!
Upgraded hose.  Most hookahs dont come with MYA wide hoses. I think they are real winners.  White chinese grommets are great.... thicker and resolve issues with some of the skinnier egyptian style bowl seats.
Never seen one, the wide hoses, are they much wider than standard hoses?

I use oyster forks to pack and pokeI designed and made a Syrian/Egyptian adapter and then had it put into semi-regular production.Wooden bamboo skewers are great for unplugging and they're disposible. Made my own wind hood with air duct pieces from Home Depot...that kind of stuff?
