crookedgrind06
Okay, so I went to the Hookah bar in downtown Pittsburgh Yesterday. It's called the Sphinx Cafe, and honestly it was a rip off.. but anyway, here's my question. They added some sort of 'flavoring' to the base of the hookah, the same flavor of the tobacco which I had got, which was peach. Has anyone ever heard of this flavoring before, what it really is and where I could get my hands on some at?
oryon1033
No but you can put different things in the vase to enhance different flavors. Try looking for peach juice, or any peach flavored liquid to enhance the peach tobacco.
nuschultz
You can often put complimentary juices in the base of your hookah while smoking to enhance the flavor. crookedgrind06
Would you be able to reuse the liquids that you would put in the base
oryon1033
You can, but it's not very tasty. I change the water in my vase everytime I change bowls.
Skimo
yeah i change it for everybowl, also for some liquids you should clean for base extra good to make sure they dont stick to the base
Calcartman
What they said. Change your base liquid after every bowl, especially if changing flavors. Peach Tea is great for peach shisha; I heard someone say they used pepsi for cola shisha, im gonna try a little bit of cocoa for my Cappucino Vanilla mix
EvansLight
its just some kind of either straight juice or mixture of dirrent things. Even seen some places put the fruit of what your smoking in the base. For the most part i stick with water. And no dont resue it. Residue from the smoke, along with any juice, ash, or unburnt coal dust may fall into the water. Can we say not so yum?
ghostofdavid
Am I the only one who doesn't want to put anything but water in the base?
Joseph
Am I the only one who doesn't want to put anything but water in the base?
I don't put anything else in my base either. Not even ice, although I usually fill the base then put the base and water in the fridge until it is cold.
BattlePope
We put Coke in the base the other day when we were smoking some Layalina Cola, and honestly, I couldn't tell much of a difference. I'll just stick with water and drinking my soda.
EvansLight
some things dont really do much of anything. I mainly stick with ice water myself, but on occasion will throw in some pink lemonade, one liquid whos flavour will actually come through with the smoke
azcoyote
I put one drop of pure peppermint essential oil in the base and it gave the most powerful mint experience you could ever want!

azcoyote
If you mix your base flavored water by the jug and keep it in the fridge you're good to go. I found it also works very well with lemongrass oil. I will be trying some others soon. The water flavors don't fade at all during the session. Be careful, it's easy to use too much. Fumare
Try Uozo (Greek Alcholol drink) 1 shot of that in the water and smoke Layallina Watermelon. Or one of my personal favorites is Doube Apple with chopped up cardomem in water, let the water sit 30 min before, so all the flavors from the seed is mixed well with water. I have a customer that comes in all the time and askes just for that and nothing else. Another one is Double Apple and sprinkle cinnamon right on top of tobacco and then foil. Sonthert
Fumari started that idea...we tried fruit juices, but found that Torani syrups were best. Thats probably what they are selling you Torani (or some similar brand ) of coffee syrups.
Scalliwag
I made up a green tea and put it in the vase with a bunch of ice and smoked Tang's Red Tea with a little Tang Lime. Most excellent combo. Especially when I made a rum tea with honey recipe to go with it
