Anpu
people have used them in the past and usually pour some salt on top of the ice to raise the freezing point. Just make sure you don't subject your base to extreme temerature changes or it may easily crack.

spoolinspoon
I bought mine with it already on it. I use ice with some salt on top to lower the temp. Smoke comes out frozen.
Oggie505
I just put ice in the base, I bought little ass ice cube trays from Kmart. The ice is about the size of a gobstopper

EvansLight
hmmm thats a damn good idea skimp, but i still wanna see if i can freeze the smoke itself. Ive seen it done to one gas before, i think it was nitrogen. Hmm, smoke ice cubes, i wonder if they make smoke when they thaw XD

SanguineSolitude
um guys smoke is particles of burnt matter in the air... not likely to freeze into anything else seeing as its alread made up of solids which technically are already frozen
Joseph
Yea, what Sanguine said, although there are some vapors, smoke is also a lot of solids.

DizzyGuy
Frozen gas goes to a liquid state, no?
EvansLight
your forgetting that were not burning anything. Where vaporizing the juices from the tobacco, and the smoke we see is coming from vaporized glycerin. Therefore it should be completly possible to freeze some of it. It would require some extremely low temps to freeze it whole and not just condense it. But it is very much possible
DizzyGuy
hmmm... hookah incased almost fully in a tank of liquid nitrogen... just the bowl and hose sticking out
EvansLight
hmm im thinking that might work. I gotta find out what the temp was that the stuff i was was freezing at. it was awesome, shooting gas out of this vent on the sea bed, and as it came out and hit the frezzing water way down below it instantly froze into awesome looking balls

Sariél
I hope you're kidding about freezing the smoke. Or at least trying to inhale it. I think, and I believe Tangiers has posted this before, that inhaling anything anywhere near that cold woud cause instant and permanent damage to your mouth, throat, lungs, and anything else it came in contact with. Internal injuries due to frostbite. And your lips would freeze onto your metal tipped hose.java script:emoticon('') I just thought I'd pass it along on the slim chance that someone might actually be drunk enough to try it...
