It's not strong, it's harsh. There is nothing "strong" about tangiers. It just doesn't smoke smoothly.
To you, it's harsh and not smooth. To someone else, it's strong and smooth. It's all personal opinions, dude.
Ok what constitutes "strong" and what constitutes "harsh" to you?
I can't describe it, I just have to be smoking it and I can tell you then.  Like I said, it's all personal opinion in smoking.
Oh ok well then let me lay out some sort of guideline for what I consider to be harsh.

Harsh, burns my lungs, burns my throat, makes me cough.

Strong overpowers me and gives me a huge headrush so that I actually have to set down the hose and stop smoking.

Tangiers does both to me. I can barely breath after I'm done smoking even a quarter of a bowl of the stuff. It's harsh. The flavor is there if you don't mind a burning sensation that is your lungs shriveling up in pain.

Whenever I smoke Al Waha or Al Fahker now, at other people's places, I find them harsh. I can't take a full hit without coughing. I guess it is a matter of perspective.

Semantics-the lowest form of philosophical discourse.

I recently tried Tangier's "Cooling Strawberry". It took a few tries to get the method down (and I tried a variety of things from glass bowls to funnels, with and without mods, and screens, glass to stainless"). Once I got it down, I liked it. I think its fine if someone doesn't like it, but thats no reason to bash it or complain about it even. Some people are getting too personal about this. I used to smoke a pipe. Some tobacco blends smoke really easily, and some are much more difficult to get down. Its all about technique. I had friends who missed out on some great blends by small companies because they thought it was too much effort to pack their pipe (briar I mean) properly. I like Tangier's for what it is. But if you don't want to take the time to figure it out or don't think its worth it, that's cool. But it certainly does not make the tobacco not worth it.

my quick 2 cents

tangiers is an acquired taste. I love it, but I normally can't handle strong shisha (Nak makes me sick). It's strong, it can be harsh, but I've learned how I need to do mine. I start off with 1 coal, let it cook 5-10 with no draws on the bowl, then start smoking. Helps me considerably. That and LOTS of ice in the base.

But hey, each to their own.

the colder the water the less nicotine the water absorbs, haha so you are actually making it stronger
