Halon
We're planning on doing something like that. We're holding it right next to some 14-story dorms, so we'll definitely get a shot from up high somewhere. TYLER
DizzyGuy
One thing though... you should do two pics... You know how in school pics you had the serious and then the goofy pictures? Well... Take a pic of everyone with all the hookahs... Next one... Have everyone smoking at once
Halon
Good idea! We'll see if we can coordinate something like that. TYLER
Halon
Well SmokeFest is taking place tonight and I can't wait! I've got all the sponsor's items sitting here in my room and it's so hard not to keep the tobacco and hookahs for myself! We did have one minor setback, though. Yesterday, after Res Life told us for the past three weeks that the school would sponsor SmokeFest, they decided that they didn't want anything to do with a smoking event. So there go all the tables and chairs and sound system. It's ok though, cause SmokeFest is definitely still going on, and we're meeting in a courtyard that has tables/chairs for over 75 people. Between my and scott's (the other guy helping me put this on) friends alone we have 85 people coming, and I know we're gonna get tons more! I'm so excited for SmokeFest! We'll take lots of pictures. Halon
i hate when reslife does that crap. you should get them to sign a contract next year saying they will support it.
Yeah, they were saying "occasional hookah smoking is not a wellness activity." Neither is a movie and a pizza, but they support those activities. Honestly, though, I'm really only upset becasue they said we could and then flaked out at the last second (almost literally). If they had said from the get-go that they weren't gonna support us then I would have been fine with it. TYLER
NorthEastSmoker
Damn.. I'm jealous.. Maine SmokeFest 2k6 will be myself, my dog, a friend and a fridge-full of homebrew beer, watching football in my living room on Sunday. 8)
Halon
We had a great turnout at the event, and it was a huge success for pretty much everybody except me and my friend Scott. We were running around like mad giving out tobacco, bowls, and charcoal, and on top of that somebody stole my hookah and over $100 in tobacco.   I don't even know why anybody would steal a hookah and tobacco. We were giving both out for free. Now I'm out a really nice hookah, lots of premium tobacco, and over $100 that I spent to put the event on. I'm really upset. On a better note, though, Trevor from Algiers hookah lounge in Fort Collins, CO stopped by and set up a few of his hookahs. He has tons of insanely good mixes. We had over 30 hookahs out and probably 70-100 people at any given time. I'll post pictues up tomorrow maybe. TYLER

Sonthert
Yeah, your first hookah is somehow, always special. Tyler forgot to mention it was the first hookah he ever got. No matter how bad, your first is always special to you. I mourn at your loss, brother.
Halon
Yeah, I'm really upset over it. I told eveyone who came to the event that if they gave me my hookah back I'd give them my brand new 2-hoser, no questions asked. Hopefully it'll pop up somewhere. Halon
Well, one guy messaged me (through facebook, luckily, so I had his name and address) saying that he could get a hold of it. He said that his friend had stolen it and was selling it for $50. He supposedly payed his friend the $50 and was going to sell it to me. That's about when I had the local PD go and drag him out of class(has to be embarrassing). He was pretty nice and gave it right back, telling me that he bought it off his friend to give to me. So at least I have my very first hookah back again! The base has a little bit of mold in it, though, but some cheap vodka will probably clear that right up. Even though I don't believe his story, I don't think I'll press charges. I'm just glad to have my hookah back, and taking this case any further would probably be a pain in the ass (what with court and all). Just thought I'd update cause I'm excited! I was beginning to think I'd never see it again. TYLER
Skimo
Damn thats dope, im happy for you. You should settle out of court and get some money for all the trouble you went through and the 100 bucks of shisha stolen. I say settle for 150, seems like a nice price. I would have taken him to court and got more but like you said it would be a pain in the ass
Joseph
Bleach will kill mold better than vodka, and if its a glass base it should rinse out easily. But I have never used vodka to kill mold, so maybe it will work.
Scalliwag
That is great news Tyler. The police should have given you the option to file charges against him. I strongly suggest you do that. Of course this guy was happy to give it back, his ass just got yanked out of class by police. It may or may not have been a friend of his that stole it, it's not like thieves won't lie as well ya know? But if the story is true then the cops should make him out the guy that really stole it. It is such a petty theft that a civil lawsuit would not be worth the trouble. Filing charges and getting this put on the guys record is the best route. You could force the issue to get the shisha back but I would worry if someone may have put something in that. So I would tell the guy to put out the $100 in cash instead, and then you would consider dropping charges. Bottom line though I am very happy for you and now I can press you to post pics without feeling bad about the damn hookah now!!!
Joseph
If he stole from you once, you never know if he will do it again.
Halon
I would press charges, but some part of me thinks he's kinda telling the truth. Like I'm sure the person who stole it wouldn't have sent me a message with his name and stuff, and the wording about selling it to me was kinda sketchy. I could see how he meant to say that he bought it and was returning it to me. Also, he was going to give it back to me tonight, but the way he worded it sounded like he wanted money for it. All the tobacco that was stolen was donated, so I wouldn't feel justified asking money for it. It was also stolen early on, so I've got no proof if it was actually him. I dunno, I've still gotta decide what I want to do. Like if he actually bought it from his friend to return to me, then I'd feel bad making him out his friend. But it seems like such bullshit that he'd buy it just to return it to me. Oh well. I'll decide tomorrow. TYLER
