I am a huge fan of mixing starbuzz with tangiers. I use the same flavors IE: SB Peach and Tang Kashmir Peach and its incredible. No hassle to smoke and it has the full flavor of the tang. So for those of you who cant get Tang to smoke right mix it with another brand.

Tang kashmir peach 40%
Starbuzz peach 60%

SB watermelon 60%
Tang Watermelon 40%

Go crazy with it, I have never had a bad bowl when I mix the same flavor of Tang with a starbuzz.

Next I will try SB choc with some tang. Maybe Choc Watermelon?? Or Choc Liquorice (ewwwww shivers)

Creamy Fresh Orange

50% Naklha Vanilla
30% Naklha Orange
30% Naklha Mint

Smoke: THICK clouds! Best I've had.

Flavor: Creamy orange with a hint of mint that lasted through the entire session.

Buzz: none (but I never get any buzz)

Overall: Best mix I've tried so far. Recommend others to try it! 9.5/10!

I was just about to post a similar mix Gaara!

Candy Orange Cream
Pharaohs Zesty Orange - 60%
Starbuzz Irish Cream - 30%
Tangiers Vanilla - 10%

Peach Pie
Pharaohs Exotic Peach - 60%
Tangiers Vanilla - 30%
Nakhla Cinnamon - 10%

I don't care for either of these Pharaohs flavors too much on their own, but they are great in these mixes!

QUOTE (Erica @ Oct 3 2006, 04:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hookah: Mya Stem with unknown Base.
Bowl: Funnel Bowl
Hose: Mya Saray hose with the long wooden tip.
Tobacco: ½ Starbuzz Black Grape, ¾ Starbuzz Watermelon mixed. Filled to the top of the funnel with a little extra on the sides.
Foil: Heavy Duty Reynolds
Holes: One medium sized hole in the center, 12 holes around the outer edge.
Tobacco Condition: Very Wet and smelled FANTASTIC (like always)
Coals: Japanese style, three quarters spaced evenly around the bowl.
Smoke: Usually we would wait for the tobacco to warm up before we started puffing, we were all really anxious to see how the bowl smoked so we did not wait and went right to it. I must say only after three or four puffs the bowl was already smoking like a champ! Nice big white clouds. Since we were indoors, the smoke was PERFECT for O blowing contests. Haha
Flavor intensity/longevity: The flavor was AWESOME. Not only did it taste great, it lasted a very long time. The flavor never died down and was great until I took the bowl off. In fact, my friend was still trying to smoke it while I was taking it off. But alas, it was time to go home.
Time: 1 hour 45 minutes, 5 people smoking, 2 pipes
Clean Up: I took the bowl off and there was no gooey mess like there usually would be. There was no molasses dripping into the tray. When I emptied the bowl into the trash there was still a layer of unused tobacco, which was impressive.
All in all, this bowl was very impressive and well worth the money. Compared to any other bowl I give it a 9.50. The -.5 was because more coal dust got into the stem, which would make for more cleaning BUT it is easier to clean coal dust than molasses so only -.5. Perhaps a little direction on how to set up the holes on the bowl would be a great help. Other then that I have NO complaints.

heehe erica ! 1/2 + 3/4 does Not equal one. smile.gif Lol

but nice post anyway. Fix ur proportions so we can get the mixture right

Citrus Mix

I tried this last night. First I filled the base half with Lemonade, half with Limeade, and squeezed a lime slice into it. Next I filled the bowl with 1/4 Hookah-Hookah Lemonade, 1/4 Hookah-hookah Key Lime Pie, 1/4 Hookah-Hookah Orange, and 1/4 Hookah-Hookah Pineapple. You could probably use other brands, but that's all I had.

It was amazing! The juice in the base definitely added to it! It was extremely citric! I smoked it for over an hour, and it never lost it's taste. I reccommend trying it!

The Pina Coconut Mix

(My only "good" pina mix I've ever got to work)

Havana Orange
Havana Coconut
Al Waha Coconut
Al Waha Pineapple
Al Waha Vanilla
(mix about 20% per item - stir VERY well together)

In base: mix water, ice, 1/2 cup Whaler's Killer Coconut Rum (((made about 1 gallon of liquid - if your base is smaller, adjust the Rum amount starting w/ 1 shot (1oz)))

It was great - I've never found a pre-made Pina mix that I liked w/ enough Coconut flavor to it.

On the second run, we added Pineapple/Orange Juice to the base (2/3 cup) and it bummed up the fruitiness even more!

Strawberry/Kiwi Buzz

Shisha: 40% Taniger's Kiwi and 60% Layalina Strawberry
Base: Ice, cold water and 2 shots of Strawberry Liquor

Man, it was hard to start up, but once it got going - blew my taste buds away! Be carefull - this mix will make you get a buzzing (was the Tangiers, Layalina or liquor? you be the one to guess).

If you want, don't add Strawberry Liquor, try adding Strawberry juice - helps tone down the buzz, without losing any flavor.

Mint with a hint of strawberry

50% Al Fakher Mint
50% Al Waha Strawberry

a few drops of lemon extract or lemon shisha juice

Mixed this up in a dish yesterday and put it in freezer overnight. At first all you get is mint, then you think you taste strawberry, then you really taste it. Finally the lemon comes through. Really enjoying this.

Using two jap style coals on a small tangiers funnel, large Egyptian rig, foil, windscreen for heat management. Worth a try. tongue.gif

Edit: Ended up really buzzed on this combo. This is day two and 4th set of coals. Thick clouds and good flavor at three hours total on the bowl with just me smoking.

Sour Grape

Shisha: 30% Rommans Lemon, 70% Al Waha Grape (mixed)
Base: Room Temp water, 2 3-Kings coals (broken)

First things you taste is the lemon, but as you exhale you pick up this faint grape taste, reminds me of sour warheads. Very good mellow taste. Only lasted an hour, light smoke. Typical Al Waha buzz.

Made second batch and will let it sit overnight - along w/ more heat should get some more smoke.

Vanilla Cappuccino

50% Layalina Vanilla and 50% Al waha Cappuccino.
Base: Ice Water.

got some nice clouds from it, not the best i've ever gottan, but good enough to be my friends best..
Amazing flavor, the Vanilla really brought out the chocolate flavor, and downed the Coffee, though the flavor constantly changed slightly, ranging from a more coffee taste, to a more vanilla taste (The chocolate flavor pretty much stayed the same)

Overall?: Best mix i've had, it was so good i'm actually going to buy both again and just straight up mix'em.

Orange Cream Smoothie

Shisha:
  • 50% Al Waha Orange
  • 40% Al Waha Vanilla
  • 10% Tangier's Vanilla
Mix throughly. I mean spend like 5min mixing - you don't want to be able to see the Tangier's when done. Set aside and let rest 2-3 hours.

Set-up: 26" Syrian, 2 3 Kings (broken), ice water, mod bowl & foil

Nice and mellow, started off w/ no orange flavor - then picked up candy-ish ornage flavor in 20 min. Med smoke, good buzz (more than Waha, less than Tang). Watch the heat - too much it quickly becomes harsh.

Next batch will have less Orange and more Vanilla, possibly a small amout of Mixed Fruit (Al Waha) to twist things up.

Banana Nut Bread Mix

1 Part Starbuzz Christmas Mix
1-2 Parts Layalina Banana
1 Part Layalina Vanilla

Setup: Base with ice water and sometimes a bit of milk or cream. 3 Japanese easy light coals. For this mix because it's really smooth I like to use my wide acrylic hose so I can get bigger hits.

Mix that evenly and I like to put an additional layer of vanilla on top and have vanilla be the first few minutes of hits before it gets to the mix. I like to put a little more banana in it than the other parts.

Citrus Pie ala Mode

25% Al Waha Orange Cream
25% Hookah Hookah Key Lime Pie
50% Al Waha Vanilla

My tastebuds always taste citrus taste as an overpowering blast. Like AW Orange Cream taste mostly of orange and a little bit cream as an afterthought. Same with Key Lime Pie. I decided to try this combination and it rocked! A nice balance of cream and citrus. I did this mainly because I didn't have enough Orange Cream or Key Lime Pie to pack the small Super Chief. It was great! When I do it in the future I'll probably add a little milk to the base. It produced huge white clouds of tasty smoke. biggrin.gif
