guest 606
Ok, so i have a mya acrylic and the purge valve keeps on getting stuck. When ever i try to open up the valve a little to get more oxygen and less smoke, the purge valve comes apart. What i mean when i say it comes apart is when you need to clean it and stuff like that. I've had to use pliers a few times and i don't want to have to do this too many times cause i'm starting to strip the threads. What to do what to do? djbomberto
what i usally do is flick it a few times, and you can hear the ball rattle and then blow thru the hose *LIGHTLY* and boom your set.
yashman19
I could be wrong, but I believe there is no point in losening the purge valve. A purge valve only has two settings, open and close. When you blow into the hookah, the ball bearing falls out of the hole, allowing you to purge out all of the stale smoke. And when you suck in, the ball completely fills the hole, giving you perfect suction. So losening the valve a little bit won't let in more oxygen and less smoke. Now as for your ball bearing getting stuck, try a few things. Try cleaning out all the gunk where the ball sits. Try using an air soft pellet in lieu of a metal ball bearing. Try coating your ball bearing with a thin layer of patrollium jelly. Other than that, I'm not sure. I've had the same problem with my Stargate hookah, and simply replacing the bearing with a plastic airsoft pellet did the trick, and I no longer have a problem with it getting stuck. EvansLight
yea my QT has the same purge valve problem. i simply fully remove it, the whole peice off the stem, and use a water just to push all the gunk out. Then a bit of vasiline to help with the motion of the ocen and im set for weeks
Skimo
When I read the title I thought it was going to be about the QT lol. Well I would use a smaller ball and see how that works, but like Yash and El said try putting some vasiline on it after cleaning it so it wont stick
nuschultz
or just clean your damn pipe once in awhile.
Skimo
Thats not always true, I clean mine after every use and somtimes the ball gets stuck and takes a couple secs. to open up, it could just be the valve is build badly like the Qt
hookah hippie
you could but a dab of grease on the ball bearing to avoid that problem
Guest Abide
what i find works even better is to get rid of that nasty metal ball bearing and just grab an airsoft BB the plastic wont rust or get as much gunk on it, mine never seems to sick in my bohemian. Sonthert
Additional idea: Rub a little maasel liquid on the ball bearing port-hole.
