DONT DO IT MAN!!!! YOU HAVE THINGS TO LIVE FOR! ..... i think.
i get it, reverse psychology!

the OP's idea reminds me of the wonderful idea of putting dry ice in the vase to get more smoke.
thats now what i was going for but.... ill go ahead and take the credit. my thought is if you really, really want to try it, use a tiny piece so as not to put yourself in the hospital.
]you probably get a nice buzz using them
You wouldn't get any more of a nic buzz, but the CO would make you feel pretty funny, then make you pass out, then kill you. Just cooking with BBQ coals inside can cause enough CO to build u and kill you, inhaling right off one would certainlky be a bad idea.

I actually use BBQ charcoal all of the time. I just don't use the quicklight stuff. After I am done cooking the food, I leave the grille going and go inside to eat. Afterwards it is nearly dusk and my hookah and I sit on the back deck and enjoy the evenings. By that time it is all very easy to use pieces, and to me saves alot of money on quicklights I normally use (going through 4+ every sitting). I've never noticed a difference in the quality of my smoke, nor ever felt any ill effects from using the said charcoal. Just my 2 pennies though.

Oh WOW spidey.............................

got a link to the coals your using. Just because you dont notice an effect doesnt mean its there. You may want to reconsider and spend the extra $15 bucks for a box of 3 kings and live a little longer. I wouldnt trust any BBQ items as a heat source for my hookah.

And considering we have had this question ask quite a few times now. I say we maake a sticky with a title that reads:

BBQ Charcoal = Death!!!!!11!!shift!!11!ONE!!!
Nat. Chunck charcoal is no different then nat. caols for hookah. The square formed charcaols have nasty binders.
Yeah, natural chuck charcoal musn't be that bad. But the BBQ briquettes are really terrible for you. I figure Spidey uses the natural chunks.
