Loose Leaf Tea

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone else on the forums enjoyed premium loose leaf tea. For some reason tea and hookah seem to go together very well. As for those of you not familiar with loose leaf tea I would suggest giving it a look.

I've been drinking loose leaf for around one and half years now. I find it very calming after a long day at work. I've got a cast iron dragonfly pot in addition to a traditional chinese pot which I only use for my favorite blend Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls and Roobios Tropica. I purchase my tea through Teavana. That is also where I got my pots.

Yup I agree completely. I get all mine from Dragonwater.com and have a nice Jaener glass pot They have a couple of decent samplers. The White Monkey Paw and any Yerb Mate tea are fantastic

I'll have to check this site out. A few of the people that I usually share a pot with order from different websites than I do; mainly because they prefer stronger black teas. I'll have to ask them for the names and links so I can post them.

I'm a sucker for a green or white tea and Teavana has some amazing green and white blends.

I'm all about the traditional Persian Ceylon Tea. I get it at the Persian market. When I went to Turkey they served it absolutely everywhere. Like if you went to buy a carpet they would serve it to you while you picked which carpet you like. For free. And it was essential at every hookah lounge in Turkey. Actually it's more the other way around, hookah is essential at every tea house. But ya I think it goes perfectly with hookah. I may have to try these tea's you guys are talkin about.

Mmmm. Twining's Prince of Wales or Russian Caravan. Gulabi Ceylon tea.

No, this is not the appropriate place for this post. Well, I don't where to move it...how about what type of tea do you like when you're thinking about or smoking hookah?

I love tea and hookah together. Genmaicha is good stuff -- In Japan they have that and other teas bottled in vending machines, which are everywhere you turn. It's so deliciously convenient.... I wish they had quality bottled iced tea in the states :(

But I guess in any case, brewing your own is the way to go. Powdered green tea (matcha) is good and easy because you don't even need hot water.

Traditional Iraqi tea is beautiful

A loose leaf black tea with Cardamom and Cinnamon sticks.

Traditional Moroccan tea is great as well. Loose Green tea with loads of fresh mint.

Both go very well with the shisha and depends on your mood and whether you want some caffeine or not.

If you live near a good asian market, shop there for loose leaf tea. They generally get a fresh stock in time for lunar new year celebrations. Prices can be rediculously low in these places. I urge you to try litchie flavored teas, and jasmine (which is green tea with dried jasmine flowers) Teas generally run 3.50 to 7 or 8 bucks for a large container. These shops also generally stock a variety of teapots, and some very nice japanese style teacups. All at a very reasonable price too. I once picked up a high-carbon steel cleaver with a stainless steel handle for $6.00. It came razor sharp. It comes in handy for opening the top of green coconuts with one whack.

8) what about Yerba Mate, it good, fun when drinking out of a hollow gourd
with a bombilla (metal filter straw). Its got a lot of stimulants that make you feel good and a kind of buzz. You can usually find a combo pack at the wholefoods market(by the way, i ain't no wholefoods hippy, all natrual, get back to earth fool, I keep it sucka free bitches! ) It comes with the gourd and bombilla and a stash of the plant. Stock up on it before it becomes illegal like the coco plant, Just kidding, but you never know with da Man player hateing

yeah yerba mate is the shiznit. if you ever see any of the jerry garcia teas, buy them. they're made by the republic of tea and a-mazing. the shady grown is a mix of yerba mate, roobious, and vanilla. and don't under estimate the chai teas.
