Highpockets
I would try a lot of 50 gram packets, see what you like. People have very varied taste it seems. That said, AF Golden Seal Eskandarani Apple seems to be a pretty universally liked tobacco, with a couple outliers, so maybe you should try some of that. Nakhla Double Apple is another standard bearer, and it won't put you in the poor house either. Solid smoke, great price. Al Amir is another brand you don't have listed, the quality and cut of tobacco seems to be very good, although people have had more success with the traditional flavors than with the more exotic flavors that have recently come out. Mathazar
Stay away from Sultan and Splash. Al-Waha is simply cheap tobacco, your money could be better spent elsewhere. I didn't particularly care for GS Escandarandi Apple, just didn't have enough apple taste to it for the price you're paying. Golden Seal is a VERY overrated brand. Yes, it offers an extremely smooth smoking experience, but it's just too overpriced. The regular Al-Fakher line is just fine. I don't like all the AF flavors, just some of them, such as: Coconut, Cappuccino, Orange, and Cola. Be very cautious when choosing Fumari. Their flavors have exotic names, but when it comes time to smoke them, you'll find a very unsatisfactory smoke. It's like smoking flavorless air. The Fumari White Peach used to be good, but lately they've been going thru some quality control problems, and the flavor is not what it used to be. The Fumari Rep told me they're revamping the White Peach to try to get it back to it's original OUTSTANDING flavor. Fumari's Watermelon is very good. Romman is great tobacco, but extremely overpriced. You can get it at SocialSmoke.com for about $5.00 less than Hookah-Shisha.com . The Romman flavors that I would reccommend are: Coconut, Orange, Sweet Melon, Strawberry, and Double Apple. Be careful with Nakhla, as it is much like Al-Waha, just cheap tobacco. But some of their flavors are worth trying. I just placed an order for all 9 Hookah-Hookah flavors, with the exception of Menthol. It's been my experience that if you're going to smoke minty flavors, it's best to have a hose specifically alloted for that tobacco, because if you smoke other flavors with the same hose you smoked the mint with, your other flavors are going to taste like mint. The same goes for Double Apple flavors, keep one special hose for your double apple. The same rule of thumb also applies to citrus flavors. Your milder flavors, such as coconut, melon, strawberry, cola, etc....can share the same hose I agree with starting-out with 50gram packs in the beginning, because you'll be saving money while sampling LOTS of different flavors. Not all flavors appeal to different people. King Mo loves all Al-Fakher flavors, while I find some of them appauling. No offense Mo . It's all a matter of personal taste. Remember that when you're loading the bowl, don't pack it down, simply sprinkle it on so that there's proper airflow in the bowl and the heat gets properly distributed throughout. You're going to get a lot of differing opinions from different people around here, so for now just buy the 50g packs. Don't make the mistake that I made in buying multiple 250g containers and then finding-out that the flavors SUCK!!! Oh.....one more thing. In my humble opinion, Al-Amir........BLOWS!!! Gamaliel
The mint you are going to want to use that as a mixer, that pretty much goes for any brand of mint massel. If you like melon, try the Romman Sweet melon,a lil overpriced but in this case well worth it. Mathazar
I'm smoking Hookah-Hookah Hazelnut right now, and the nose factor is AMAZING, smell just like Hazelnut. The taste is very good, but it reminds me exactly of Hazelnut Extract, but a high-quality one. This is the first flavor of Hookah-Hookah that I've tried, as they just arrived this morning. I'll let you know later in the day after I've had a chance to sample everything how the flavors match up
TheHookahGurus
I spoke with a tobacco store owner here in my local town. I am from the middle east and hookah smoking has been a family tradition. From all of the brands of tobacco I have personally used, Romman tobacco is the Cadillac of shisha tobacco. I say this both because of its price $22-25 for 250grams and the quality of tobacco. Simply top notch stuff.

untwisted
Are Sultan, Splash, Havana, Al-Qemma, or Nakhla any good? A local bar around here sells those (and I think more) so I'd like to know if its worth buying from them.
Lukasa
There is no "best shisha" For instance. Hookah Hookah, in my opinion has the best butterscotch flavor. Fumari has the best grape i've tasted, layalina has the best watermelon i've tasted. But pound for pound the best shisha company out there? I have no idea; maybe fumari. Joseph
Don't ever, ever get sultan. It is the most vial, terrible shisha I have ever smoked. I feel like I wasted $14. I hear splash is the same as sultan. The others are fine, it is more a matter of taste.
EliteHookah.com
Havana is by far the best. It's very true to the actual flavor. After that I would go Fumari Al Fahkar That's all. Don't ever get Al-Waha. I'm also not a big fan of Nahkla, but some people like it a lot.
The Dude Abides
Havana is by far the best. It's very true to the actual flavor.
Interesting. Do you happen to sell Havana?
EliteHookah.com
Haha. I happen to do so. But I sell it because I am biased to it and am not biased to it because I sell it, I assure you. You should give it a try. Nice nick by the way.
smokinshisha4life
I like al waha, much better than al amir. I dont know why everyone on here bashes it. The cut is far better than al amir, but my favorite is fumari. I dont know why people bash them either. Tangiers is good, the flavor lasts throughout the entire bowl but has a tendency to get harsh. Ive heard Romman is over priced, as most of it is especially starbuzz, but I've never tried them because im not about to spend that much on it. I mostly smoke nahklah because thats what I can get locally, stay far away from sultan.

gunsboy
As several people mentioned above, the best thing is to get samplers. Everyone has their own preference. I seem to toggle two kinds of shisha: Smooth Subtle smoke (Main meal), Fruity Tasty smokes (Desert) He is a list of shisha that I try to buy when I find: Al Fakher: Golden Bahraini (Subtle Taste - Anis - Smooth) Gold and Regular Double Apple (Strong taste - Heavy Anis) Cola (It tastes like drinking Cola, a little harsh but hits the right spots in your taste-buds) StarBuzz: Lemon-Mint: Very Fruity (Sweet Lemon) Taste, I think because of the Mint factor it gives a very strong buzz (it almost feels like I was starting to get high). Al-Amir: Most flavours I tasted were good, they feel like you are eating a bowl of fruits, they are very tasty but too sweet for my own taste, but many friends here loved them. Orange and Lemon are good flavours to mix a little of them with other AF or anything else. I heard alot of good reviews for "Tangier" and a couple of other brands, but have not tried any yet, stupid customs laws of canada make it alot of hassle and risky to lose the shisha to order any tobacco. Why waste the verbage to sugar-coat it?
Giving your opinion is one thing, but is that what you did? Giving your opinion would be saying, "I can't stand al waha or sultan, I hate it so much. I would recomend staying away from it". What you said is never buy al waha or sultan. Theres a difference. But a lot of people out there do like the stuff, and prefer it even more than other more expensive brands.I'm just pointing this out because there was a member in the past who took it upon himself to dictate what everyone else should and shouldn't be smoking, and believed just because he didn't like it, that NO ONE else would as well. And to actually participate in a really old thread, I'd say my favorites are Havana, Amir and Fakher (typical).

DownZero
I've smoked Al-Amir, Al-Waha, Havana, Layalina... I think thats about it and I havnt' had problems with any. I would say that I've gotten a very diserable taste from Havana. Layalina's tobacco is very moist... actually more wet than moist.. very juicy and very strong scent... but I would have expected the smoke to be bursting with flavor. That was Blueberry.. I still need to try Black Grape that I have.. We'll see. Al-Waha is cheap and a decent smoke. If your low on the cash, why not? Still can be enjoyable. Al-Amir has a cooler name... hah. The flavors I've tried have been good but as far as physical features, nothing stands out to me. But I will still smoke it enjoyably. I'm still trying different brands.. and so far, I would smoke anything from the brands I've tried.
EliteHookah.com
I got some samples of the Layalina and wasn't very impressed with the flavor. It was a strong, thick smoke but it just didn't have much flavor kick.
