aelephant
Hey all, this is my second post here, so hello and all that. I'm soliciting opinions on what sort of hookah I should purchase. Right now I've got a small piece of cheap that I bought at a local smoke shop. It hits badly, burns the tobacco on the top only, isn't visually appealing and has two hoses with no bearings in them. I'm often entertaining guests, so what I'm looking for is a bigger piece, potentially with multiple hoses. What are people's opinions on hookahs with multiple hoses? Does it effect the ability of the hookah to hit in any way? I know that single hose hookahs are preferred by most and are more "authentic" but having to pass the hose constantly can be annoying. What are people's opinions on this? Second, what are people's feelings on rotating bases? I have heard that they tend to break and are not easy to fix. Is this true? What have your experiences been? If that is not true, are rotating bases that helpful for entertaining multiple guests? What are the pros and cons of these hookahs? Lastly, for whatever hookah I buy I will be purchasing a funnel bowl for it. Do I need to pay any special attention to the size or are they all standard? Thanks for your input! Skimo
Well multi hoses are cool just not the best imo, but it looks like your getting one regardless. Make sure it has auto seal so when somebody isnt hitting the hookah it closes up and everybody gets a better draw. A single hose rotator would be about the same as a multi hose regular in my opinion, no sence on getting a rotator if it's going to be more than one hose imo. The Phunnel bowl is all the same size as of right now, there is talk about people carrying a smaller one but I dont belive it is out yet. If you need help with anything else or have more questions let me know and Ill help you the best I can.
xpimpitox
well as far as rotating bases go, id suggest an all metal one. my friend's first hookah is an all metal one he got probably 7 years ago and to this day hits like a champ with no problems. His is extremely sturdy, and while not that visually appealing, very convenient. I haven't seen many around the internet basically cuz im not in need of a rotator, so as far as price goes im not sure. The only gripe i have about it is getting the water level correct; since you cant actually see how much water you got in the base you kinda have to toy with it and see if you got the correct water level, this may be a little intimidating to a hookah newbie but i have no idea what your level of expertise is. any questions dont be afraid to ask, we are a friendly group of hookah lovers . ohh and welcome to the boards! bigmahlman
well i have a rotator and i love it. Its very cool with big groups of people, you never have to turn the hokah for guest or anything, and passing isnt that big of a deal. a hookah is supost to be passed around. anyways if you get a rotator, look at the ones at hookahcompany they look alot like what i got. mines base is realy heavy and i have never feard that it will tip over. ive also seen multiple hose rotators if its that important. 2 pepople realy cant take a hit at once anyways. when upgrading to a better hookah you shoudl realy make shure you know what your doing. have a sy stem down that works for you and use it. dont want to wreak your good hookah doing somthing sutpid
EvansLight
Well my main hookah is a 3 hose egyptian from socialsmoke.com It hits just as good as a 1 hose hookah, and if you buy 3 mya wide hoses hits that good even with everyone hittin at once As for the tobacco only being burned on top, thats your bowl. With a tangiers funnel bowl i find the tobacco burns all the way through
