Meet a lot of Romanis when my family was living in Turkey. They seemed to love persian chai which we had kilos of from relatives back in Iran. So we used to steal some from the kitchen canister and trade it with them for their wonderful barbari bread or romani sweets.
That's cool. Turkey is such a beautiful country. I can't really go around talking about my ethnicity where I live. Alot of European immigrants around here with the typical old-world attitude, paranoid I'll pick their pockets and then steal thier kids. Oh well, life goes on.

I always thought it was funny that Hitler was not even close to meeting his own so-called "perfect race".
I read that by his own standards Hitler would be considered a Jew. Not sure if that's true or not. My history teacher told me that he had Jewish blood in him either way.
Statistically, anyone living 2000 years ago (and therefore before), who had a child is an ancestor of every living person today. Obviously there would be a few outliers in this, but for the most part, this is the case. It's amazing what you can learn in your textbooks when you read them... :) So really, everyone has far more mixed heritage than we think.
I  Call me crazy but I think my main reason for wanting to go is the women. Absolutely beautiful women over there! My full ethnicity is 50% Lebanese 43.75% Spanish and 6.25% Navajo Indian.
I'm SO with you on that one. I agree totally. Even though I have no roots there myself, I'm probably going to spend a week in Egypt (hopefully I'll get a small grasp on Arabi while I'm there) in a couple months then, once I'm more than sure it's 'safe' I DEFINATELY want to visit Lebanan for a good couple weeks. The country is absolutely gorgeous and some of the women are too.
