DizzyGuy
So... I've been needing brushes for my hookah... well, after work, I stopped by Dollar General. First off, I found a toilet bowl brush thing... I was thinking that I could trim down the brissles and use that for my stem... but it's too big... so I'm glad that just in case, I picked up a pack of tooth brushes. So, what I did for my stem was tape a tooth brush onto the handle for a shotgun cleaner pole thing... works nicely ALSO, one more thing. I've been wanting a scale to get a rough idea of how much tobacco I have... esp for trades. I was leaving work today and stopped by the kitchen "gadget" wall... found this little scale. It was only like 5 bucks and it works great for if you don't need down to a fraction of a gram measurement! Happy hookah-ing, yall! EDIT: The bowl brush isn't going to waste. It should do nicely for cleaning out the base of my hookah
Skimo
Damn Ill have to try that toothbrush idea, seems like it might last longer than the brushes made for cleaning it with. Ive only had mine for maybe a month and a half and only one side has brissles
KiKaL
You could use the toilet bowl scrubber to give your base a good clean since it doesnt fit in the stem.

DizzyGuy
I'm gonna redo the tooth brush idea, I'm gonna take off the heads of the tooth brushes and fasten them to the end of the stick going all the way around so it's even easier to clean the stem It's still pretty easy right now
Lakemonster
Um. why not just get a nylon barrel brush for that rod?..... they cost like 2 bucks or so.... and last a long time.

Caramellanne
Not all of them are...keep looking around...There are super fat pipe cleaners at the craft store if you want something that is softer..
Lakemonster
Go ahead and take your rod into a gun shop or a large sporting goods store that carries firearms. You need to make sure you find a brush that matches thread and size of the rod..... I cant remember if I have seen Nylon bbl brushes in Walmart or not. You want to find a nylon brush.... brass will wear on your hookah over time.. Most muzzleloading brushes are nylon. If you find a brush nylon brush that seems to be too big. you can always trim the nylon bristles down with some scissors. Measure the inside diameter of your stem/s and find one that is slightly larger around than your measurement. If all else fails in a local hunt....theres always Midway USA That should be about the right size for most stems...... DizzyGuy
Guess I'll take my stem to a sporting goods store soon :/ No, wal-mart doesn't have the nylon ones as that's where I got the brass brush set.
