Iron Lung
OK who here has some nice burn holes in their carpet? I now have about a million after one of my drunk stupid friends forgot to let go of the hose when making a trip to the kitchen. I learned a lesson, severly drunk people should never be allowed around a hookah.

Macho555
I don't have any that have gone through a carpet yet, but I definatly have a few hardwood floors with mysterious black scorch marks in them. I remember the one time I dropped a coal on my deck, it left a nice round mark before I threw the coal into the pool.

Thadeus
Yeah, the carpet in my room has burn marks in various places. There's one rather large hole, about the size of a half-dollar. I didn't realize that the coal had fallen.
Caramellanne
I have a huge glass dining room table that I smoke on...even if the coal does fall, it just hits the glass...no damage done...However, my other friends are idiots and have massive drunken people at their house and I swear, they might as well pull the damn carpet out..My friend has gotten so used to picking up coals that have gone astray that he has developed calus's on his fingers and is able to pick them up by hand...I cringe every time he does that... Erica
None at the house I live in now... LMAO.. But one day I decided to move the couch to the other side of the room.. for no real reason *so my grandma thinks* LMAO... then we moved.. and I got scolded! Me and my friends went to Vegas and of course.. had a little too much fun haha and ended up burning the carpet. So the morning before we left I had to run around looking for scissors to cut the burnt out of the carpet! Damn drunk people!
Europa
I recommend getting a bowl with a windscreen... I saw one at EliteHookah.com for 9 bucks. It may seem a little steep but its probably worth preventing burn holes in your carpet...

toothhookahharp
when i 1st got my hookah I had it out on my mother and father in law's porch and while i went inside between tokes the hookah fell over onto their wicker chair and burned a hole straight through. That was a bummer. We were inside smelling something different than just the hookah. Fortunately my mother in law was a little hammered and we all just got a good laugh out of it! I have done that before...You were probably squeezing the tongs more than you should and BLAM...Sparks everywhere...I use a ceramic plate to carry coals, I learned my lesson like you did....Sometimes when I am ashing coals that happens tooo, then you have to scramble to put the damn ashes that went everywhere out...its funny but annoying
Joseph
I dropped some coals on my linoleum kitchen floor, melted a little bit of it. Thats going to be hard to explain when I move out,
MrMoodz
When Eric (Sonthert) and John (sorry John) were over on Monday. We were smoking up the Tangiers. During the middle of managing the coals, John squeezed the tongs a little too hard and poof! Coal exploded into 7 pieces, leaving 2 large holes and 5 scorch marks in the carpet. Krautle87
Yep, got a nice black burn mark on the white living room rug, the 'rents were not happy about that one, I didn't notice it fall and it burned about the size of a quarter. I put a plate under the hookah since then to catch any stray coals. Also my one dumbass friend dropped a little coal onto my seat and it slipped under the back of my thigh, put a hole in one of my favorite pair of shorts and I've still got a scar there two months later.
Lukasa
welcome to the burnt carpet club.
word. my carpet is fucking ruined. Its gotten to the point where i don't care. I'm gonna get a nice looking space rug to roll over the floor when the hookah isn;t in action, when its smoking time, i'll roll that shit back up and continue to ruin the already-fucked carpet. OPR234
I smoke at my brothers place, and his apartment his 'non-smoking' so I set the hookah up on the stovetop with the oven fan running. And I think its easier to manage heat really. Because you know regardless of the surrounding temperatutre that little metal cover is going to retain the heat you can judge coal usage. You just have to get used to it. I shouldn't have put so much coal on my al waha last night I think. Also, I think because the heat is so contained you get a more even burning of the shisha, with no 'hot-spots'. I've banged on about these on the site before.... I'm not associated to them, I just think they're really good!
Seraph
My carpet has small burn marks from when I would pick up a burning coal and it just breaks apart =( Also have burnt kitchen floor from last weekend! John should have known better than to edge a charcoal over someone's floor...flat side...all the way. I've lit my trash on fire several times, putting charcoal ash in, not realizing there was a nugget of coal hidden within....putting a charcoal burn in the trashcan.
