Fresh Fruit and Shisha

Recommended Posts

I have to be honest man, I don't think we really need a new link to the blog everytime you make a new post. I mean yeah, the things interesting and all, but if people really wanted to read it, they would have most likely linked it already. Just sayin.

We used to do this at the shop I worked at...

We would charge a ridiculous amount for it though.. for a few peices of peach or pinapple....

It actually does change the flavor.. and keeps the smoke cooler!

Smiley, I love the blog, I think many off us do, and I don't want to bag on you and I am sure macho doesn't either. I am sure all he was saying was that you can put a link to the blog in your sig so we can link to it from any of your posts instead of looking for the one where you talk about a new blog post, and it will save you time so you don't need to keep starting new threads every time you post in your blog.

using an apple or an orange for a bowl definately has an effect.

Havana special apple, in an apple head is a pretty tasty thing indeed.

Orange skin adds quite a strong flavour to any shisha.

making the bowl is pretty easy, you just carve the bowl in teh apple's case, and cover the hole in the bottom with a sheet of foil with holes in it and treat as a normal head.

Similar thing with the peel of an orange, where you use half the skin to make a bowl and a bit of foil in the bottom with holes to stop the tobacco falling in. (cover as normal).

Instead of pimping your blog everytime just repost it in a thread... it gets old really quick and quite annoying.
THANKS!

Also, fruit bowls are fun to do every once in a while, ive used oranges, apples, pears and grapefruits.

I sent smiley a friendly PM. I suggested that he make a "Smiley Blog Megathread!!1!" where he can bump it to the top of the forum whenever he updates his blog. This does a couple things. Keeps newcomer smokers in the know with fresh tips/ideas, and also reduces the clutter from low content threads.

Don't take offense Smiley, as we mean none. I for one am glad you are looking out for people not in the know. But you will probably do more good helping others by having a megathread. That way people know where to look for updated info. Its much harder to keep track of so many small threads.

PM me back if you have any questions/concerns.

Thanks again
Yeah I have experimented with making a bowl out of a pear and it was pretty satisfactory. But just curious as to how you would make the 'fruit bowls' more airtight ?
I've made a bowl out of an orange many moons ago, and when you make the bottom hole in the orange, the part that you stick onto the stem, you just make the hole smaller than you think. Then when you jam it on, the hole may be tight, but because you made the hole smaller, it stretches just enough to fit, while still keeping a good suction.

Lemme try and find a photo of our orange bowl.

As you can see from the pics, we did basically everything the same as Smiley said, and we held the aluminum foil in place with pushpins, seeing as how there isn't a 'lip' like on a regular hookah bowl.

Edit: Please excuse the mess. Its a typical college dorm room with carpet brought from home, and we smoked a lot of hookah that year ^_^
Damn, how much shisha did you put in there?
We didn't hollow the entire orange out. Just cut a crater into the top part. I'd say there was 12-13 grams in there, 15g max.

Edit with a crude mspaint diagram as to how full the orange is with tobacco, and a rough showing of where the pathway is to the bottom of the orange.

Ok, I thought you had filled the whole orange, it looked a little excessive.
I have never done this, but I can't see how it would effect the buzz, you still have the same amount of nicotine in the tobacco.
My thinking was that the fruit juice would "water down" the strength of the tobacco. Sounds delicious though, gonna try and see what happens.
