quick question about base mixing?

Recommended Posts

At the hookah bar they would put coconut rum and pina colada in the base and put some sort of tropical mix of shisha on the top...You get flavor from the top and bottom, plus the zing of alcohol in the taste. You dont get buzzed but if you smell alcohol it has a zing to it..its similar when smoking.

I have never tried using alcohol, but I would imagine cutting it with water would make it much better to smoke through. It doesn;t seem like you would want to taste the alcohol fumes. And could you try a differant color when typing? I can;t read that blue.

The only other thing i've had in my base besides ice water was beer, which was gross and frothy, and thick. If you use juice or tea, you shouldnt have to cut it with water unless the smoke is harder to pull from the hookah. Fresh fruit probably goes in the base too, but I would imagine its mostly for looks.

Im surprised at how little you guys have experimented. I think I've tried pretty much every type of drink in the vase with very mixed results. I completely disagree that it does nothing to the flavor. Is it expensive? yes. but when you get that killer combo its worth every penny.

I thought my screen was faulty when I read your post. Man that hurt my eyes :)

Most strong juices and drinks that can be diluted make a bit of a difference.

I'm very comfortable with water in my base though and don't really feel the need to change things from that perspective.
