Bigging Up Romman?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i just went on hookah-shisha.com and i was checking out what they were saying for each tobacco and they were like saying Romman, smoke density= excellent (whereas al fakher "good" and al amir "average") and romman smoking time= 2 hours whereas al fakher and al amir 45mins to an hour respectively, and saying that romman tobacco might be expensive but it has maximum smoking time and worth the money? somehow i dont buy to all this, like saying romman is better than AF and all those stats, where do they get them from!!!

I've only tried romman tobacco a handful of times, from samples I recieved many moons ago from a nice gent from this forum.

IMO is was meh. I had raspberry, lemon and grape. The smoke density was borderline fakher, and even a tad less, while the flavor was there, but not very abundant. I would most definitely smoke it again, but never buy it. So I guess if someone were to give me some Romman, sure I'll smoke it, but the quality doesn't justify the price, imo.

Other people love the stuff, but I think they are just exaggerating because of the amount of money the dropped on it ^_^ But hey, don't take our word for it. Try ordering a 50g pack of a few flavors and see for yourself. You never know, it might just be your next favorite brand. And with only buying 50g packs, you won't be wasting your money if you end up not liking it.

romman is def not worth the price you pay for. i have had 2 experiences with romman and they both sucked big time. like i said in my review of romman strawberry, unless i go 2 a lounge and thats all they serve, i wont be smokin romman anymore.
I love romman lemmon, orange, and apple.  And I like that unlinke most premium shishas, rommans is unwashed.java script:qr_show_hide();
what do you mean, 'unwashed'? Dont know much about the makings of shisha I'm afraid.

Not to get too far off topic:
Some shishas are unwashed, they don't rinse the tobacco leaves before processing. That generally gives a nicotine content around .5%. Others are washed, this gives them a nicotine content of .05%.

Your average cigarette is between 3.5% and 10% nicotine as a comparison.

So I could be smoking the equivalent of a pack of twenty over an hour session? I've read that you get a lot of nictotine hit from shisha smoking due to duration but the thing I like about shisha is that you dont cold-turkey from it in the way you do cigarrettes. I fought long and hard to give up cigs but shisha smoking doesn't make me feel like I'm taking the slippery slope back to the dark side or anything? But if you're getting that much nicotine you'd think you would, hey? Must be all the other rubbish in cigs that makes you crave it so much, hey? Or just the quick fix. oops! rambled off topic. soz! :-)

Ginger, I feel your fight. I'm trying to cut the cigs. I was doing really good up till a couple weeks ago. I don't know what to do anymore, but at this point, I find shisha a problem Maybe if I can ever cut the cigs, I will do better with shisha.

As far as Romman, The only flavor I found remotely worthy is the Double Apple. Now, that is a tasty Christmas treat! 8)

When I gave up cigs i didn't touch any nicotine product for a long time 'cos i knew anything would send me back. Now I haven't smoked them for a long time i do sometimes get a nicotine craving smoking shisha but its more of a vague idea than a overpowing craving. Because i've distanced the physical addiction of nicotine with the psychological gratification of cigarettes I think its easier to remain a casual shisha smoker than grouchy cig-junky! Don't get me wrong. we all know its the nicotine thats physically addictive, but you can't instantly gratify it with shisha, or build shisha into your day-to-day life until it becomes an integral part of everyday activities. Still, might ask my boss if I can incorporate 5-hour long shisha breaks into my working day. Might be worth a try eh? oops, rambled again!

The only Romman flavor I've tried was the Peach and it I would I would say that it's one of the best Peaches out there. Right along with Tangiers Juicy Peach. That bieng said I would rather have 250g's of Tangiers Juicy Peach than 2 50g boxes of Romman.

Peach is definitly one of their strong ones - but I would side with their Sweet Melon - pry one of the best smokes available on the market. That said all the "american" made shisha is gonna be priced higher than the imports (AF - AW - etc)

What was the rumor? Something about Romman being a contract product made by Al-Waha?

Peach stood out.... I do think its better than Al-Waha...

I'd throw it in the ring with Havana and Layalina.... on a few flavors, I'd probably run it against Fakher...

I havent managed a solid two hour smoke session with any Romman tho.....

Rommann is overpriced junk compared to the awesomeness of fahker and layalina.

It's essentially taking al waha, doubling the price, and saying it's twice as good as nahkla and smokes twice as long when the two are about on par with one another.

I did think at one time that Romman was repackaged Al Waha with some flavours being surprisingly similar and both coming from jordan. This was from a couple of flavours but the guy who sells it came on to argue his point.

After trying a couple more flavours, it is actually a very good product.

Their lemon is fantastic in my opinion. Al Amir Lemon is very close in comparison, so perhaps the price isn't justifiable, but certainly the lemon is worthy of 'premium' status.

Well, I don't know if I am reading this right, but Tangiers is american made and is cheaper than Romman, which is imported from Jordan, so I don't think this generalization works. Tangiers is cheaper than almost all "premium" shishas, and it is domestic.
