ikellen
I just recieved my order of (6) 50g boxes of Layalina from Social Smoke last night. Anxious to try some of these tasty flavors, I loaded a bowl of kiwi-strawberry (which btw was very sloppy for me too). I lit a 40mm 3K disc and let it heat up a ways and then put it on the bowl. At first smoke was very good, but flavor wasn't entirely there. I decided to calm the heat a bit and split the coal into two halves, then placed them on the bowl one each side a little off center. After doing that, flavor came through better, but smoke was quite diminished. I kept playing with the combo through the bowl, but never got it totally perfect. I'm curious what coal strategies people are using with layalina to get a good combo of smoke and flavor, as the flavors I bought smell AMAZING, and I want the same flavor in the smoke. thanks BTW - Still lots of shisha waiting for a new home! They do smell great, but always taste a little flat no matter what I do. Not that there isn't any flavor, but nothing really that exciting. Smell does not always = taste. Calcartman
Layalina is not an overpowering flavor brand (waha, nahkla, tangiers); its a more mellow one. Its a hint of flavor instead of a punch in the face with it. Sometimes thats a good thing (rose especially). sometimes its not (cherry)
Macho555
Layalina is what I smoke predominatly, and It's exactly because of its subtle flavors. I have to agree though, sometimes the flavors do dissapears with extra heat. On that note, I can get nice huge clouds and nice flavor from them. And yeah,...Laylina cherry sucks. Lukasa
Layalina strawberry kiwi isn't the best Layalina flavor. And yeah, its very sloppy. If you want a good layalina flavor go with their grape (just ok) orange, esk apple, or watermelon. Theyre all "light" flavors, but very nice and refreshing. Layalina is probably the opposite of Tangiers in a lot of ways.
Mark
Layalina Watermelon tasted fishy. Maybe a bad batch. Fumari Watermelon is the best watermelon i had so far.
MilqueToast
Layalina is delish. Eskandarini Apple, Pear, Blueberry, Mint, Pomegranate, Fig, and Raspberry are phenomenal. It's also one of the easiest to smoke. I can't think of anything out of the ordinary to do to make a good smoke. Easy peasy.
