ThePaulson
Hi party people, So, I was the one having hookah-tipping problems a couple weeks ago. On suggestions made emphatically by many of you, I ordered a MYA QT. All I have to say is, Good Call! This is one precisely engineered piece of smoking equipment. 1) I don't know if this is normal, but it has a slight bump on the bottom so that it doesn't sit flat on the table. At first I was contemplating sending it back for one that wasn't "mis-shapen," but on second thought, it's great. It allows the hookah to spin on the table. 2) The hose is nicely attached to the base, until I give it just the slightest tug. It comes out with just a little less force than it would take to knock the hookah over. 3) Unlike my 24" Egyptian, the base is heavier than the top. It smokes just as well as the Egyptian, as many of you said, but it doesn't present the risk to my flooring. All in all, I love it! So, where is MYA made? I've been trying to learn more about the company, but I can't turn up a website for them anywhere. Any suggestions? Cheers, Paulson

ThePaulson
Ok, that was sub-intelligent of me. You know, i definitely found that site, but didn't think that was what i was looking for on account of the limited merchandise... I'll learn to read more closely next time! over, Paulson
cymptom
Yeah the base is supposed to sit flat... but hey, if the bump helps it rotate, I can see how that would be useful...
ThePaulson
Hey Cymptom, Yea, it isn't quite as handy as a hookah with a rotating section, but it doess keep it from scooting if I just need to drag the hose around to the other side of my laptop or something. I do have one new question. When I have the metal part inserted into the glass part as far as it will go, the stem touches the bottom of the glass, thereby preventing air from getting through. In order for it to draw correctly, I have to slide the metal part up a little, which still works just fine because of the way the seal is made. This works fine, but it isn't quite as stable as it might otherwise be. Does anyone else have this problem with their QT? Any suggestions? -Paulson
mushrat
no, there should be a few inches of clearance between the bottom of the downpipe and the bottom of the vase. You may have a really outof whack base. The bump may only be a sign of something else mis-shapen about it. If you can show a picture that'd be great. Check to make sure the down pices is screwed all the way into the bottom of the vase. Just to check, is there a black rubber ridged gasket on the top of the vase? It really sounds like the vase is mis-molded, with the bottom too thick. $.
ThePaulson
Hey Mushrat, I'm afraid that I recently moved from Virginia to Detroit, and in so doing, misplaced my camera.... not so cool... I do have the black gasket you speak of. It just occured to me that my metal piece does not look like the MYA QT metal piece on the MYQ company site. It's more curvy (see http://saharahookah.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=252). Is it possible that this is the wrong metal piece? I'm aware that there is probably a name for the metal piece... if someone knows what it is, please let me know Any info would be great. malakas
You're the owner of a C-Class stem. Those fat, grenade looking stems are the S-Class stems.

malakas
They also list this QY as being 10 inches in height... Pretty sure they're about 14 inches...
SanguineSolitude
the stem in the bottom of the qt unscrews. try unscrewing it and then screwing it all the way in. that is a c class and ive also got one. but no bump on bottom and the stems the right length. if there are two problems with it ask mya to send you a new one. ThePaulson
The stem in the bottom does unscrew, however, it still hits the bottom when it's all the way in.... I might drop MYA an e-mail... Cheers, Paulson
