HeadCheese
I bought from Caravansarai Imports via EBAY and found the quality to be generally poor. Prices were good, though. As it is, I'm fortunate to have a number of local stores that carry hookahs. One that I visited just yesterday is stocked up for the holidays with over 4,000 hookahs! It was like being a kid in a candy store for me. I have three hookahs already, but almost bought another while I was there, marvelling at the variety. I did buy some tubs of Al Waha Cappacino and Rose, after being being invited to sample from some of the hookahs in the café. Jasmin Market and Café 107 E. caravansarai
Boy, were we surprised when a customer called to tell us that we were a topic of discussion at the Hookah Forum! I suppose on some level the old adage that it doesn't matter what you call me as long you don't call me late for dinner applies here, but there are a few misconceptions about us that I would like to clear up. Caravansarai Imports is eBay's leading seller of Egyptian hookahs and hookah related products. Our family has been manufacturing hookahs in Egypt for a little more than 70 years and while we have been supplying many US wholesalers with our products for years, we only recently decided to open a warehouse here and stock it with our own products. We have a brick and mortar location in Fullerton, California, where eBay customers, wholesale buyers, hookah lounge owners, and passersby come to purchase hookahs and supplies from us. Chances are that if you have been to a hookah lounge, you have used our hookahs. A steady stream of wholesalers visit our warehouse, purchase from us, then sell our products to Middle Eastern markets, tobacco shops, and hookah lounges. Buyers from all over the world visit our manufacturing facility in Egypt to place orders for hookahs and accessories. We ship tens of thousands of hoses to Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon; it is almost impossible to find a hookah hose in the Middle East that was NOT made in Egypt. The same holds true for stainless steel stems (shafts); those made in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan are typically made of aluminum or chrome plated copper. Egyptian hookahs have such an outstanding reputation worldwide that some unscrupulous sellers will label any hookah, including those made from fiberglass or manufactured in China, as Egyptian just to increase marketability. We are so confident in the products that we sell that we list our telephone number in every auction on eBay and receive hundreds of calls daily from fellow eBayers, some of whom call us with questions about hookahs they purchased from other online sources but from whom they were unable to get any after sale service. The only other eBay seller that I know of who lists a telephone number for customer contact is Social Smoke. Clearly, customer service is of the utmost importance to both of us. Publishing a telephone contact number speaks volumes about the confidence we have in the products we sell. Our selling volume is not only a result of our prices; it is also a reflection of the service we provide to our buyers and the quality merchandise they get from us. Enjoy the hookah experience, Caravansarai Imports 714-525-9300
