Cleopatra Molasses

Recommended Posts

The local cafe has just gotten a selection of Cleopatra Molasses in. Wide variety of flavours.

I picked up a 50G of sweet melon.

The ingredients read: Tobacco, inverted sugar, sweet melon flavour.

Anyone else ever heard of this stuff? Alas, the search engine is still not QUITE up to snuff.

Inverted sugar is where the sucrose has been broken into a glucose and fructose. It is hygroscopic like glycerol, so thats probably why this shisha doesn't have any, although I don't know which would be better for producing big clouds of smoke. It sounds really unique, I can't wait to hear how it smokes. Also, how much did it cost?

Inverted sugar is sucrose (table sugar) that has been digested by the enzyme invertase... seperates it into its component fructose (fruit sugar) and glucose/dextrose. It makes it syrupy and preserves it somewhat (the same process is done by bees to nectar to make honey (that and dehydrate it)).
Not sure how it would smoke though.

I have smoked the Peach. It's pretty Good. holds it flavor threw out the session. It does change when to hot. The flavor that is. But most shisha's do that. All in all I decided that I will be carring this brand in my store. But i will be getting it by the Kilo.

How was the Melon? I added some real Peach meat to the Cleopatra Peach Shisha.I smoked that threw a mix of peach and mango juice with ice. That was good. I like that fact that there is a new Shisha Brand to try.

Inverted sugar is better known as sugar syrup, glucose syrup is sometimes used. Molasses contains inverted sugars, too. I was under the impression that inverted sugars were sugars that were the wrong chirality for people, but plants used either kind. Shows you what I know.

I wonder if that's like Pharoah Molasses? I've tried quite a bit of that (cuz it's cheap at the store I go to) and their formula on at least the mint changed recently...perhaps ownership change? I'll have to post my reviews.......

I picked up 2 packets of Grape flavour while in Jordan. They smell really fruity but are rather light in taste. Was a bit disappointed. Have tried mixing them with the Naklah Grape Ultra Lights (Really regret buying these) but did not amount to much taste wise.
