Blue Lantern
Hey Guys and Gals, I just received my big order from H-S, but i was wondering if Al Ajdad coals are the same as Nour coals. The reason I ask is because H-S has a picture of Nour coals but calls it "Al Ajdad" in product description. The illustration is similar but the bag itself is physically different as Al Ajdad has strings for handles whereas the pictured Nour bag has the handles built into the bag. If they're different, how do the Al Ajdad's smoke compared to the Nour's? Thanks

Sonthert
Its not uncommon for a manufacturer's goods to be purchased by two different distributors or have a manufacturer's packaging and another outsourcing company that purchases unpackaged stuff and packages it in their own packaging. NorthEastSmoker
I've smoked with both.. they seem to smell the same when lighting, and neither impart any negative flavors on the shisha. However, the Al-Ajdad are triangular in shape, versus the round finger/pencil look of the Nours.. This is great, in that they won't roll off your bowl. However, I've found that with the flat surface touching the bowl with the Al-Ajdad, if the coal is too long, it makes for too much surface area touching the foil/screen, and it can be too hot.. I just use 2 pieces, each about 3/4 - 1" long, when using the Al-Ajdad.. when I'm using Nours, I use 1 piece, about 1.5 - 1.75" long...
