piperdown
Has anyone found an autoseal accessory for multi-hose hookahs that don't already have this feature?
ApoC
piperdown: Mya Saray will be offering such an accessory in the near future, it also allows you to convert the exaust valve on a Mya hookah into an additional hose port. As for diffusers, once I make a good prototype I'l have my production machinist in NY make a small run then I'll be able to sell them to you guys. I'm trying to get Myas attention with it, as I'd much rather pass off the design for some money
ApoC
also ive got the windcover sold at hookah-hookah, its poorly made. Southsmoke has some nice hoses and hose covers though, I think ill place an order there.
ApoC
goto the carrying case section and you can see a few of em... or, email them if youre looking for screwin glass base and im sure they can show you the different styles. good to hear that adapter fits the Myas, that means the threads are the same. egyptians i know for sure have different threads though... but yea, I was pointing out that the new mya accessory not only adds a hose port but can also be used to make existing ports autosealing. HookahCulture
piperdown: Mya Saray will be offering such an accessory in the near future, it also allows you to convert the exaust valve on a Mya hookah into an additional hose port.
I already saw one of those on another site some time ago, I just can't remember which! I also don't know if it's a universal fit, if everyone's threads are the same, or what....
ApoC
no, not all the threads are the same, but all myas are the same. its not their problem if the rest of the hookah manufacturers wont conform to some simple standards like exaust port threads. although, i believe most of the egyptian/syrian are the same... so maybe mya decided to use their own myas adapter *also* converts hose ports into autoseal as far as i know. handy dual purposeness and all... piperdown
I had an idea, which I have not tried out yet for adding autoseal functionality - Finding a shisha-smoke compatible check valve to install on either the hose or hose port. I've found a couple of sources for these (industrial fittings suppliers or here), but wondering if there might be any specific materials to avoid. Ideally, I would expect stainless steel to be the material of choice, but most of the valves I've seen are made of plastic. Here's one of the units I found in SS. Any thoughts? supachink
the double clay bowl comes in useful when mixing flavors, as for the ice bowl i would think that i would ruin the way teh maassel heats up would it not? the ice would melt rather quickly and i just dont know...
