Jcarlson050
Hey guys new member here (great place BTW), Found this place a few days ago and decided to order a Mya QT after reading a bunch of threads about it. I got it Yesterday and finally decided to smoke it up this morning. The Quality of this thing is freaking great. I have another Hookah I bought a year ago and this QT about puts it to shame... It's a great little hookah if I do say so myself... Anyway onto the bad news. Right after I got done smoking I decided I would go rinse and repack it. Apparently in my hast I had the water set to warm and the base was still cold. As Soon as the water hit the base I heard a pop and my jaw dropped. I turned off the water and just kind of stood there for a minute thinking maybe just maybe, but a few seconds later the bottom came falling off.... After a few choice words the reality sunk in, I just f'd up my day old hookah... Anyhow I still can't believe I did that, I'm such a freaking moron. Anyway, I went to the Myasaray website to see how much this was going to cost to fix but they don't have it listed on the website. I'd going to call them Monday to see if they just sell the base. Anyone know off the top of there head what they cost? All that said I still think this is one of the nicest hookah's I've ever seen, the quality is great especially for the price. I think I may have been a little to over confident because the thing felt like it was build like a tank. - Jared
suicideguy
The thicker the glass, the more likely it is to crack at quickly changing temperatures. So I guess you could say it was the superior build quality that led to the cracking.
YuoGotOwn3d
when you said the base was cold, you mean ice cold or like room temperature? How thick is the base? I have this cheap widow/pumpkin base and its pretty thick but ive never tried using warm water to clean it. Just cold. Anywho hopefully someone comes up with a much helpful answer for you hehe. I too would like to know where to get another base JIC. I just ordered a QT the other day and I cant wait, I wanna see how great it is first hand. SanguineSolitude
call up myasaray on the phone and tell them what happened. ask them how much it would be for a new base. (the reason to call and ask them is that sometimes (often) they will offer to replace it free or for a reduced price) definately tell them what happened to it. Chip
im sorry to hear about the base i did something similar with my first hookah...but i had been drinking left it outside in the cold and we all know what happens to water when it freezes... so ya cracked it all up but oh well got it all fixed a few other ones now so no big problems. i would imagine the base wouldnt cost you that much. im interested to know how much they charge you for it though. yashman19
Been there, done that... Although it wasn't a mya QT. And my situation was much stupider... I thought it would be sweet to stick my base in the freezer for a half hour or so to get it REALLY COLD! You know, like those frosted beer mugs.... Yeah I'm an idiot. The second I took it out to fill it with water, it cracked in my hand and shattered in the sink.. Like said above, just give Mya a call. Since they manufacture these things, I'm sure sending out a replacement base is no sweat for them.
web250
MYA Saray is a really reputable company. I'm sure they can help you purchase a new vase.
