overdetermined1
I've scoured the 'net for clove-flavored shisha and I've found absolutely nothing. I saw the earlier post on here re: others not being able to find it, either. And, for the record, it doesn't cause your lungs to bleed (that's kind of an urban legend -- I can provide links if you want them). I have a 250g container of honey-flavored shisha that's pretty boring. Any thoughts re: "doctoring" it w/cloves and/or other spices to make it more interesting? Would I have to heat it on the stovetop in order to get the blend to marinate properly? Help
EliteHookah.com
You can always break up a cinnamon stick over the top to spice it up a bit.
PersianPride
You want Nakhla cardamon. I had it at a hookah cafe` a long while ago and it tastes like those clove cigarettes you get in Indonesia. Not exactly my thing but before you consider making your own I suggest you try that. SanguineSolitude
my suggestion is to buy some ground cloves as in finely powdered cloves and mix it in really really well with the shisha. then leave this (mix once a day) for a couple days to let the flavors really absorb. Im not guaranteeing this will work since ive never tried it, but if you ahve a bunch of honey shisha and its not that great its worth a try. azcoyote
Clove oil is available and it's pure clove flavor. I'd try a drop or two in the jar.
SanguineSolitude
clove oil might not work in that the oil might burn off right away. i dont know though.
azcoyote
By putting it in the jar, I mean base -with the water. So it won't burn off. I have tried this with other essential oils with good effect from peppermint and tangerine. You should give it a try sometime.
SanguineSolitude
maybe mix cloves into the shisha and put clove oil into the base for a clovetacular session
azcoyote
I think I'll try that with some AW vanilla. A lightly flavored smoke, imo.
benny
U Guys realise that clove oil is toxic if ingested? I cant imagine inhaling that stuff to be any good.
SanguineSolitude
not toxic according to wikipedia. in fact its used in baking and in many recipes. they dont make it just for poops and giggles you know. clove oild occurs naturally in... cloves. and you can eat cloves. have at it

PersianPride
I have some cardamon, havent tried it yet, but it smells nothing like cloves.
Didn't get an opportunity to smell it but it tasted of cloves to me. But only one way to be sure and that is for you to puff puff puff on that sample you have.
azcoyote
WELL FOLKS, I survived the clove experiment. I had obtained some clove leaf oil from silky scents on the internet along with some other essential oils. I had intended to place one drop of the oil in a bowl of AW vanilla. A second drop fell into the mix and I said wtf and went with it. So two drops plus enough AW to fill a small tangiers non-funnel bowl. Iced down my Tazqueem Jr and used foil with a couple half sections of finger coal. The clove essence was very much there right from the start. I found drinking some sweet hot tea while smoking improved the experience. I enjoyed that bowl for more than half an hour and noticed the clove was fading a bit. Pulling up the foil I removed what stuck to it and replaced about a teaspoon with fresh AW Cappuchino. The combination was awsome, balanced with just a hint of clove. I let it go out and went to bed. Smoked for 15 minutes this morning before leaving and the clove was almost all gone. One drop in the jar I think would have kept it going longer. But I think this was a good smoke for those whole like clove. I found no psychoactive effects from the clove oil. Slept normally and feel really fine today. Macho555
I absolutly adore clove. I'm waiting with baited breathe for Tangiers to complete his clove flavor.
Joseph
Psycoactive effects, it does contain eugenol, which is what numbs up your mouth and throat when you smoke clove cigarettes. It also numbs up your lungs, which can be potentially bad. No one really knows what the effects of smoking eugenol is, but there are deffinitley no effects on yuor brain, other than nicotine.
