Mathazar
www.ChefDepot.net/minitorch.htm Scroll-down to the 5th picture on the page. It's a torch connected to a can of butane. This torch is PERFECT for lighting coals, quick-light or natural. I'm sick and tired of burning my thumb on small lighters, and constantle having to refill the lighter with butane. This torch is supposed to last up to 7 hours. It's the MOST effective way of ensuring that your coals are REDHOT!!! I just ordered the torch for $45 along with 20 cans of Butane. The total was $158.99 Go order yours today
piperdown
Man, That's sweet. So, from reading your posts, lessee... 20 cans of butane - that's gonna last you - a week? Looks like it would work great on creme brulee (sp?) Cheers
To100YearsToLate
You can get a torch nozzle for a propane can at a hardware store pretty cheap. I was thinking of doing that.

Mathazar
I don't like messing around with propane, you get a leak, and you could blow the whole place up
To100YearsToLate
Butane is a bastard gas /Hank Hill I've used propane for years as a Boy Scout, never once had a problem. Of course I don't use it inside...
slicerd
I actually like using a candle to light coal. You can just light it while you are setting up and its good for the mood then just hold the coal above it as long as you need and no burt fingers. But then again if I had the money to spend on a torche I might pick it up.
ApoC
ive got a propane torch which i use often, but i find a zippo is the best way to light hookah coals (its small, has a big flame, and easy to hold).
Mathazar
www.ChefDepot.net/minitorch.htm Well, my torch arrived, but as it turned-out, they sent me the wrong torch. I wanted the one that attached directly to the can of butane. But instead they sent me the Messermeister, the first picture on the page of the website I listed above. I was extremely pissed-off when I realised they had sent me the wrong torch, until I used the Messermeister. This torch ABSOLUTELY KICKS-ASS!!! On the lowest setting, I get a HUGE JETSTREAM FLAME, and within mere seconds my coal is REDHOT. No more burning my thumb with regular lighters, this torch is the answer to all my coal-lighting problems. This little baby is solid and sturdy. It just takes 20 seconds to fill the cartridge with butane, and this puppy is ready to crank-out some heat. And, MAN, does it ever get hot. The body of the torch stays cool, while the flame gets PIPING-HOT. I am glad they made a mistake and sent me the Messermeister, as I couldn't be happier with my purchase I HIGHLY-RECCOMMEND that everybody order the Messermeister, as it will EASILY heat-up Natural and Quick-Lighting Coals with very little effort. Go order yours today, and have a LIFETIME of Coal-Lighting Bliss!!!
NERV
so how long will 1 of those butane tanks last, and how long will it take to light a natural coal, for quicklights im content with book matchs at 60¢ for 1000.
Mathazar
I shouldn't have said that it's PERFECT for lighting natural coals, since I don't have any natural coals and I haven't had the experience of lighting them with this lighter. Considering how powerful this torch is, I just assumed that it would be perfect for natural coals. Okay, shame on me, I shouldn't have made that assumption and then tried to pass this off as the PERFECT natural coal lighter. Sorry But, it takes about 6 seconds to get a Golden Quick-Lighting Coal REDHOT On the low setting, with a full tank of butane, this torch is supposed to last around an hour. And the low setting produces a HUGE jet-flame. That's what I use to light my Golden Coals with. The low setting produces around a 4 inch flame, and on high it produces a 9 inch Jet Flame. The thing is ABSOLUTELY-AMAZING!!! For $5.95, you get a 320 ml can of butane. And it only takes 20 seconds to fill the torch's butane canister. For $39.50, in my opinion, the Messermeister is one HELL of a great deal. With the Messermeister, you can put away those matches FOREVER
