Starbuzz: Washed or Unwashed?!?!?!

Recommended Posts

So, I smoked from my new stash last night. I was looking at some of the Starbuzz cans and realized something I thought was quite odd. Everyone has said that Starbuzz is a washed brand. I was looking it over: Irish Cream and Peach were washed (0.05% nicotine) but Spearmint, Guava, Strawberry, Kiwi, Vanilla, Strawberry and Social Smoke Blend are unwashed (0.5% nicotine) Now, I don’t know if this is how all the cans are, or if they are going from a Washed to an Unwashed brand, or if this is how it’s always been and none of you have noticed. Anyways.. I was just curious and thought I would share what I found out. Let me know if you guys know anything…..

starbuzz switched to a washed tobacco sometime within the past few months.
all the newer flavors, and all the new batches, will be made with the new tobacco. there's still a good amount of old product out there made with the 0.5 tobacco.

i don't care what they do to irish cream. i can't stop smoking that stuff.

Starbuzz was originally unwashed, and the unwashed version is still available in many places. The more recent stuff is washed though.

I don't smoke for a buzz, so I'm okay with it. I also third the Irish Cream deliciousness. :)

Oddly enough, I just got done cleaning my hookah after my first bowl of Starbuzz Irish Cream. Excellent smoke indeed.

A quick question, does anyone happen to know if their Irish Cream contains chocolate? My girlfriend is terribly allergic, and she was worried because a lot of Irish Creams (the beverage) do.

yea it came up a while ago on the forums. For reasons ive since slept out of my brain, they have gone from unwashed to washed. I prefer the unwashed, but oh well XD

As for irish cream, i have no idea. Doesnt taste like there is, best call Ali or starbuzz directly :P

I believe they switched tobaccos first and then changed their packaging only more recently. Ali, from Social Smoke confirmed that it was washed and that the new packaging would reflect that. I think they switched, like 9 months ago or so.

Alot of companies start business with a pile of really good samples made by somebody else, then they change the tobacco to a poorer quality tobacco or a domestic one and screw everybody. Starbuzz converted and is making some pretty good tobacco.

So, I had e-mailed Starbuzz and asked, why do some cans have .5 and others .05? Surprisingly enough I got an e-mail back, he said he actually say my post on hookah forum and told me what had happened. Starbuzz has always been 0.05% nicotine. The printer who had made the labels had messed up and put 0.5% instead of 0.05% now, as they are running out of labels, they are re-printing them with the correct amount, 0.05%
